I received Form I-797C (Notice of Action 1) from USCIS upon their receipt of our I-129F petition package. When I input the receipt number into My Case Status online, it says receipt number not recognized. It does give a number to call, but I feel I have seen this issue arise on VJ before... individuals were worried and then suddenly they received something from USCIS to move along with the next steps, whether it was NOA2 or an RFE, etc.

Is this quite common, to not be able to check status online and yet the case continues processing after all? And yes, I know it's only been 10 days since we submitted. :wub: I'm not going to obsessively check the status every day, I just wanted to see what checking the status looks like because yay this is exciting! :dancing: But I'm also ok if it's common to have this happen and the process continues anyway.

It happens every now and then, it happened to us. Most people can't see their status online until the either get an RFE or are approved. And there's really not much to see in between anyway.

We wanted ours to work though so we could register on their webpage and add our receipt number so we would get emails when something happened to our petition. We didn't get help with that until about 5 months after filing though.

I wanted to give a status update on my status update issue >.>

Today I tried again to check the status of my case and... it worked! :dancing: And as you mentioned it didn't really tell me much other than they received our case and we should receive the notice in the mail soon, which of course I already received. I'm relieved it's actually recognizing the receipt number now! Yay! Thank you!
