RFE blank Birth Certificate back not included

has anyone ever received an RFE for not including the back of blank birth certificate. The way I am I definitely would have copied it regardless but my fiance thought it was pointless anyways its out already just want to know if anyone else has done this and not get an RFE

I have no idea, but that made me so nervous that I just scanned all pages of my passport instead. The back of my birth certificate is blank (and it's the real deal - stamped and all), but the back of my kids' birth certificates have a watermark and some writing on it. Let us know how it turns out!

havent heard of someone getting a rfefor it but i could see them giving an RFE for that

I has happened before, and will likely happen anytime the printed USCIS instructions are not followed:

1. If you were born in the United States, submit a copy, front and back, of your birth certificate.

USCIS may interested in what is NOT on the back of the birth certificate, rather than what is on the back of the birth certificate.

Bottom line, follow their instructions, it is their ball game, their rules, their ball field.

If i were doing it i would have done exactly as instructed because based on my research i know they can be very particular but my fiance sent it without it and we dont even have the entire passport pages as backup either I am aware of a few persons who have done it and not get n RFE so im praying whoever reviews our case will not be so rigid but if so its an easy fix can b corrected in a few hours and sent right back out once we get the RFE anyways will keep you all updated on our progress. Thanks for the help

I didnt send the back of mine. And I got approved. But I have read here and on the facebook k1 groups of a few people getting rfe. I think its completely dependant on who looks at your case. Thats just my opinion.

My USC fiancé has a BC with nothing on the back but they asked for both sides, so they got both sides. We wrote on the empty page that it was the back of the BC, so they wouldn't think it was just an empty paper (which it is though).

We sent in all pages of the passport too just in case, tried to do everything not to get an RFE.


You should always send too much rather than too little. If they ask for both sides of the BC, send both. It doesn't cost anything and it's not much extra work exactly and totally not worth getting an RFE for.

I agree I tried to make him see things that way but i wasn't around to micro manage everything I basically did the research and the majority of the document because I had more time and he worked around the clock and even though I mailed him notes of what he should do exactly he found some things unimportant and did not follow the instructions so if we get an RFE i am micro managing everything going forward lol I dont want an RFE but if it comes it should be an easy fix

Many, many people get RFEs. You'll be fine, this is a very easy RFE if you even get one.
