Looks like a clean shooting to me. Oddly the story never mentioned he was white.CNN played the unarmed card well, but no race card was available. To me race is not an issue. Cops deserve to go home an night also. You have nano seconds to make a decision. They made the right one

I don't know. Seems the first two rounds hit him in the abdomen and when he was laying on the ground he tried to cover his wounds with his hands. That's probably a pretty natural reaction and I doubt he was lucid enough at that point to follow police commands. There was no danger for the officers at that point from my perspective. Of course, I wasn't there and don't have the full context but the initial shots seem borderline. Yes, he reached behind his back so there's the danger that he might pull a gun out but you can shoot when he actually produces anything an not before then. The final two shots do seem overkill to me. Just my opinion.

All that said, I agree that officers have a right to go home at the end of their shift. And people not following police commands are surely asking for trouble. Not a smart thing to do.
