My wife is worried about flying here without me. So not only do I need to find my wife and step son a flight for as cheap as possible but I have to get a round trip ticket for myself that has the same return flight as my wife and step son. If it is in December I am sure it will be very expensive. Time to start living at work again.

If my estimations are correct (assuming of course that you're sending out your documents on Monday and you won't get a checklist), your wife and step-son will have a mid-November interview date. Considering the visa takes anywhere between 3-10 business days to be delivered, early December seems to be the tentative date of arrival... just in time for Christmas ;) Unfortunately, as you already know, prices skyrocket in December... I wish you lots of luck & hope that you won't work yourself sick!

P.S. Take lots of vitamins :secret:

Ok guys here's the deal. Without boring you with all the details some things came up where I don't have enough money to pay the IV fees until my next check in 2 weeks. I have enough for the AOS fee however. Should I pay the AOS fee and send in the paper work next week still or should I hold off until I can pay the IV fees? Another thing I am wondering about is will the process be affect negatively if I were to find another job in the next month or so? I was forced to move last week and now I have an hour and a half drive to work. I can do it for the next few months if I have to but I would rather find a new job close to where I live. A place where my friend works is hiring and he said he can get me in there.

I think you can still pay for the AOS fee and send in the documents as planned. I doubt they will look at your cases in the first two weeks anyway, so there's no use in wasting time and waiting until you pay for the IV fee, as long as you know for sure you'll be able to pay the IV fees within 4wks of sending the documents. And as for finding a new job, it won't hurt the process at all as long as you will still be making enough for the 3 of you. For your wife's interview, just have some pay stubs as evidence just in case the CO asks for it... and perhaps an updated i-864 form with your new occupation listed. So essentially, you'll need to bring a whole new AOS packet to the interview.

Ok so tell me if I understand the process correctly. I send in the paper work and the 30 day (or however long it is) countdown starts for them to review everything. In the meantime if I pay the IV fees and complete the DS260 before they review the paper work I'm good to go. Is this correct? What happens if they start to review the paper work before I can pay the IV fee? Will I get a checklist and will it cause delays?

The last week has been rough for me but things turned out good in the end. I was staying with a friend who kicked me out last week with no notice. After living in my car for a couple days my wife went on facebook and talked to a relative of mine (I guess I am too stubborn to do it myself lol) who offered to let me stay at her house. Now she is asking me if I want to buy the house (nice house on one of my favorite fishing lakes). I guess God never closes one door without opening another.

I was expecting a road bump in the visa process with how well things were going but never expected it this way. Now I'm a little short on money due to moving expenses. Also all my paperwork is scattered in various boxes due to the speed at which I had to move my belongings. It will all work out in the end I'm sure.

Hi jg,just got home from working another double. nvc will not review your paperwork to after you have paid all of the fees cuz you can't unlock the DS-260 to after you pay for the IV FEE so until you pay nothing moves on their end

I am putting the paper work together today for the AOS and IV packages and I have a few questions. I am going to print my check stubs off the ADP website. How far back should I go? Are photocopies of all the documents in both packages acceptable? As far as tax transcripts go I had them but they were misplaced in the process of moving. I have been going back and forth with the IRS on the phone for the last 3 hours because I am unable to get my transcripts on their website. Also I can't get them to change my mailing address to my new address to send me new copies. I do have w2s. Will these be an acceptable substitute for tax transcripts? Do I have to go back 3 years will last year's be enough? Still on hold with the IRS. Hopefully they can fix this but I'm not going to hold my breath at this point. My only other option might be to go to their office tomorrow which is an hour drive one way. My last question is about how to assemble everything. I know the AOS and IV paper work should be seperate but should I seperate the IV paper work for my wife from the paperwork for my step son or put it all together?

Hi JG, when I sent in my package I sent the IRS TRANSCRIPTS for last year along with W-2 and my paystubs for this year. Since you lost the transcripts I would send in the W-2 and all of your paystubs for this year hopefully they will be OK with that. Now you can put both your wife's and son's together but with a cover sheet stating what's inside the package but do yourself a favor call nvc and explain to them about the transcripts and see what they say so you don't get a check list

I have a seperate bar coded cover sheet for my wife and step son. The AOS paperwork is the same for both of them so should I put both cover sheets on top of the AOS package? Some of the paper work for the IV package is different for my wife and step son. Should I make one packet for my wife with the cover sheet attached then one for my step son with the cover sheet attached then attach both IV packets together? Then I will put the AOS package in one envelope and both IV packages in another envelope then mail both envelopes together in another envelope. Sound right?

Well it looks like I will be able to get my tax transcripts faxed to me. My only problem now is I misplaced my wife's passport photos. I had her go to an internet cafe and scan and email a passport photo to me but it turned out a little pixelated. Anyone know how she can get a better scan of the photo to send to me? Otherwise I guess I will be paying $60 to have her Fedex it to me.
