JG greenbaum is right. They only go by how much you made last year. I have the same payroll ADP just print out this year's pays.call NVC before you leave for work and when you get home today's your day I have a feeling that you should have your case number by tonight

So I called the NVC just now. The person said they received the cases July 18th and their not in the system. She then said she would put me on hold and bring it to the attention of a supervisor. She came back a minute later and said she notified a supervisor. I asked when I should call back and she said I could call any time and it could take up to 6 weeks for a supervisor review. What do you guys make of this? I will be calling back on Monday.

That's what I was told too but when I called back later that night it was there so try again later tonight

Did they tell you it could take up to 6 weeks also? The rep's exact words were it could be anywhere between now and 6 weeks from now and to feel free to call back as soon as I want. I hope this is just the government giving a high estimate so when it happens sooner they look good as it seems like they have been doing so far. I also asked if my wife and step son's cases would be combined and she said she can't say right now.

On another note I got my employment letter last night at work. I see a couple issues. They are probably not a big deal but I am trying to dot every "I" and cross every "T" here because this is the government we are talking about. The first issue I noticed is there is a typo on my address. I live on Highway 175 and they put Highway 174 on the letter for some reason. The other thing is probably not an issue but I just want to make sure. For my job title they put "Laser/CNC Punch Press Operator". It should be "Laser Operator/CNC Machinist" (I have never even operated a CNC Punch Press lol). The only problem I see with that is when I fill out the I-864 it asks for my job title and I want to be truthful on that form but If I put the correct title it wont match the employment letter. Again I am probably making a big deal out of nothing but I want to make sure so there are no delays. I can have them redo the letter if I have to but they might think I am being too picky and get annoyed. Also If I get the case number early next week I want to send the paper work as soon as possible. Maybe before I go back to work later in the week.Perhaps I could include a letter with the AOS package explaining the mistakes? Here is a link to a scan of the letter.

JG relax. NVC is busy. It's summer time. What you received from your job is fine you can add a note explaining the typo.but they're going to see your paystubs no worries. Just call back Monday

The letter looks good to go

I know I am being a little paranoid here but things have gone so good so far that I don't want to screw it up if I can help it lol.

Things appear to have gone quicker for you than I thought was possible. If I get my case number Monday I won't have the money to pay the fees until Friday. I can maybe scrape together some money for the AOS fee. If I pay that will I at least be able to send in the paper work at that point?

Yes, you can send your documents when you have already paid the AOS fee, just print 2 copies of the AOS cover sheet. But you might have to pay the IV fee soon after (at least within a month) because I'm pretty sure NVC won't review your case until you fill-out the DS-260; but the DS-260 doesn't unlock until the IV fee is paid.

Hi you can pay the AOS FEE and within 2 days the IV FEE will unlock you can send in the package after you do the DS-261 online form but before you can do your DS-260 YOU have to pay you IV bill

Posted

The AOS fee is $120 correct? Assuming I have a case number Monday I can do the DS261 then pay the AOS fee right away. After that I can send in the paper work correct? Then wait until Friday when I get paid and pay the IV fee and do the DS260. Does this sound like a good plan? Now I just need to find some money for the AOS fee.

Sounds like a good plan to me! ;) Hopefully you'll get your case number soon!

Just got off the phone with NVC. I tried calling earlier and it was so busy it wouldn't even let me be put on hold. Got through now and we finally have case numbers. I asked the rep what is next and they told me just wait until I get something in the mail. Now that I have case numbers how do I get started on everything without waiting for the mail?
