NVC Phase of CR-1 Visa - A Few Questions

I called NVC today. After holding for a half hour and being hung up on I tried again and got through. They confirmed my paper work was received on the 11th. They then told me to wait 6 weeks after they received the paper work for it to be processed. At that point I brought up how the CEAC website said 30 days. They said they are sorry for the confusion but the processing time is now 6 weeks. This is ridiculous. I will give them 30 days then I'm calling my congressman like Teddy did. I am not going to have my cases put into a supervisor review black hole. I may even call my congressman next week to express how upset I am about being misled on the CEAC website and maybe get the ball rolling on this right away.

I agree that the CEAC website & even the NVC website is misleading when they say that it will take 30 days for review, when in reality it's 6wks. I read somewhere that NVC has admitted in falling behind with their reviews, so hopefully they get their butts moving and quit procrastinating on everyone's cases.

Just an update on my husband: he completed his CFO seminar today (well, technically yesterday for him). He said he was the only male in his class and the only IR-1, everyone else was K-1. He was only asked one question during the one-on-one interview, and that was "How did you two meet?" He said he was expecting it to be more complicated, but that was it. Everyone else after him took a much longer time. With the seminar completed, we just have to get through the interview and receive his visa, and we're done! I am so looking forward to all of this being done.

Congrats xmaricrix now you can breathe alot easily now as I know you all of your documents are in order. Nvc is a joke I have to send all of my financial paperwork. A new i-864a from my wife since they lost part of my file and don't want to admit it. They said just send everything to your step daughter and I explained to her only only give these documents to the American CO to which I marked for US EMBASSY STAFF CONSULT OFFICER ONLY

I keep nagging my husband to go over all the paperwork and extra evidence to make sure he has everything in order, and that nothing is missing. He hates me for it, but I believe all this nagging will make his interview go smoothly.

The NVC is so disorganized it's ridiculous. I was very fortunate that none of the documents I sent were lost/misplaced. At least you got your CC, and now you can expect your step-daughter to have a December interview.

Hi xmaricrix I just started a new job this week working along side my wife we're working 12 hr shifts very tiresome especially the hours 4:00am -4:00 pm to tired to fill out paperwork right now. Now I know why my case went into supervisor review now if I didn't contact my congressman's office I would still be sitting waiting on NVC like how can you get CC with missing documents? So how long after your husbands CC did you have to wait for the interview email

I had to wait 3wks for my husband's interview email; but I received the date 1.5wks after I got CC. They will begin scheduling December interviews next week, so I would start calling on Tuesday to see if they have scheduled your step-daughter's interview.

I'm trying to plan ahead, this is my plan right after I receive the interview date I will book a suite for my stepdaughter and her grandparents for a week that way take care of SLEC and the embassy then after I receive the text from 2GO make an appointment for her CFO too then after she gets everything I will be flying there on April 4th already booked

Sounds like a good plan. I'm assuming you will have your step-daughter pickup her visa at MOA? If all goes well at her interview, the average number of days for visa availability at MOA is 2-3 days after the interview... and if you don't pick it up within a week, 2GO returns it to the embassy. CFO seminars usually fill up quickly... you may need to book it at least a week in advance.

Thank you Teddy! But the journey is not quite over yet... still waiting for his passport. The status on CEAC has been ISSUED since he completed his interview, but when I try to track his passport on 2GO & ustraveldocs it just says INVALID. Hoping my husband will be able to pick it up at MOA on Friday

Going to issued right after the interview is fairly common with the ir/cr visas, not so much with the K-1 ( they can only wish.. ). It is usually 2-3 days after issued when the visa package is ready for 2GO.... soon .. very soon!!
