NVC Phase of CR-1 Visa - A Few Questions

Is that 6 weeks since you sent in the original packages or since you got the checklist? Maybe I am remembering incorrectly but I though you had a checklist 2 weeks after sending in the paper work. Hopefully we are lucky and have our papeer work reviewed as fast as it took for you to get a checklist. I have however been reading that NVC is becoming slower now so we'll see. after finishing the DS260 it said expect it to take 30 days to have the paper work reviewed. I hope you get your case complete soon.

That's good news. I hope the interview goes well and the visa is delivered quickly.

I wouldn't count on 30 days; like you said, it's been taking quite a while for them to review nowadays. Some have been waiting for over 6wks :protest: I don't know what's causing the delays but I hope they get their act together!

That is great news!!

Thank you very much! :goofy: It's a big weight off my chest for sure.

Oh no :ranting: I feel like lately everyone has been put on Supervisor review; it's useless. It just gives them an extra 6wks to review everything. Definitely time to start making calls.

Hi xmaricrix I'm so mad this is total bull#### right after work on Monday I've made an appointment with my congressman's office I'm so tired of all the lies from NVC. I've talked with the congressman's liason officer who's well trained in immigration matters and he tells me that nvc should of never requested for my wife to submit a i-864a form since I make enough money to petition my stepdaughter just another way to slow you down

Our 6-week anniversary of the NVC scan date is today. Are you saying it will automatically go to supervisor review whether I call them or not? They are going to have some very busy supervisors there! I haven't seen a CC all month that was less than 6 weeks since scan date.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

I always felt like it was weird that NVC asked for your wife's i-864A, but I figured what do I know about immigration legalities. This whole delay in processing is ridiculous and unnecessary. If they are going to delay you, the least they can do is give you a valid excuse why.

I haven't seen very many CCs as well; just mostly a lot of people being put into Supervisor review. I would start making a lot of phone calls and ask a lot of questions until someone is able to give a valid excuse for the delay.

If I recall correctly when I was trying to get case numbers they told me it would be reviewed by a supervisor and not long after that I had case numbers. Maybe the same thing will happen with your case complete. Think I'm gonna call tomorrow to confirm they got my paperwork and ds260. I will play dumb and ask them if it will only take 30 days because that is what the ceac website said. I will also record the phone call in case they confirm it will be 30 days. After that I will call at least once a week until I get a case complete. After that if I get the run around I will also contact my congressman's office.

Has there been any movement with your case teddy? My husband has already completed his medical; he got his vaccinations done and was given a cd :dancing: All that's left is the CFO seminar on Friday and interview on Monday!

Glad you finally got your case complete. What a mess. I think my stategy will be to call NVC tomorrow and confirm they have my paper work and ask for an estimate of how long this will take ( I will play dumb and tell them the CEAC website said 30 days). I will call back once every week or two a few weeks from now. If I reach the 6 week point after they received the paper work and there is no case complete I will also be contacting my congressman. Maybe if more people do that they will get their act together. I am getting a little uneasy seeing how how relations between the US and the Philippines are falling apart.
