NVC Phase of CR-1 Visa - A Few Questions

There is still a possibility that they can get their visas in January, as long as you send the paperwork within the next week or two. Just go over everything to make sure you're not missing anything and that you signed every place that needs a signature. I'm praying that this will all be over soon for all of us!

Just triple checked the paperwork put it in it's envelopes and put those in a single padded envelope and it's all ready to go to the post office tomorrow. I will pay the fees as soon as my check is direct deposited in a few hours. I'm glad i finally came up with the money (thanks to my brother for helping me out) and can put this part of the process behind me (hopefully). It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. If there are no issues I hope the rest of the process wont take too long. My wife's friend and her fiancee are going to Bohol in January and we are hoping I can take my trip there to travel back here with her and my step son then so we can go to Bohol too for a couple days and spend some time on the beach. We'll see what happens.

Wow, Bohol! I love it there! That would be a wonderful way to celebrate your wife and step-son getting their visas, and also your wedding anniversary :) I really hope everything works out for you JG! Keeping my fingers crossed

I mailed out the paper work and paid the fees Friday. The paper work is supposed to arrive today according to the tracking. I just checked my bank account and the payments for the fees got to the bank today. On the CEAC website it still says in process for the fees and still wont allow me to access the DS260. How much longer should it take for the DS260 to be unlocked? Is there a website somewhere that lists all the questions on the DS260 so we can get our answers ready for when it is unlocked? I know one of the questions is what are all of my wife's addresses since she was 16. What should we do if she can't remember all of her addresses? After all of this is done we can expect it to take 4-6 weeks to get a case complete then the interview is scheduled correct?

I know one of the questions is what are all of my wife's addresses since she was 16. What should we do if she can't remember all of her addresses?

You can either list EVERY one to the best of her recollection, unknown for forgotten info; or list only the complete ones bypassing over the incomplete ones. Make sure there are not any gaps in the provided dates. As I have said before the USEM doesn't send out swarms of operatives in black t-shirts and reflective sunglasses to check on the validity of provided info and asking neighbors questions about Lisa's morality.

After all of this is done we can expect it to take 4-6 weeks to get a case complete then the interview is scheduled correct?

If you're lucky!

Just completed the DS260s. Man was that a headache. I had 9 previous addresses to enter for my wife and the page kept timing out when I was entering them and wouldn't let me save until the page was complete. So now that NVC has everything they need I guess I just wait. at the end of the DS260 it says allow NVC 30 days to review everything but the way it sounds from people here maybe it will be longer. One question about the DS260. Where it asked if you have vaccintion records I put no and put "unable to obtain documentation" for the explaination. Is this an acceptable answer? Both my wife and step son had vaccines but my wife can't get the records for them. Guess our next step is gathering paper work for the interview and get ready for the medical exam.

The previous addresses part gave me a headache also because my husband moved around a lot when he was in college. It was a pain in the butt because it kept timing out on me as well... but at least it's done and over with now. Don't worry about your explanation for not having vaccination records as they will have them anyway after they do their medical. I'm glad that you've finally sent out your packages! Praying for a quick CC for you JG!

My husband just reached his 8th week of sputum culture with no phone call! I emailed SLEC earlier, so I'm hoping they will have his results ready.

Have Lisa tell SLEC what she can remember about what and when they had vaccines and let SLEC sort it out. More likely than not since there are no substantiating docs, they'll get the full series on day 2 unless they are out of stock and ask them to come back later. That happened with Madilyn. Go figure how a clinic like this runs out of vaccine.

Guess our next step is gathering paper work for the interview and get ready for the medical exam.

The waiting clock is reset to the beginning once again. One thing I just remembered is to have Lisa get a new 'CENOMAR' in whatever name is in her passport which I recommend be in your surname.

My husband has been ready for his interview for a long time... we just had to get over the sputum culture. I'm so glad that the 8wks are over; I'm hoping SLEC emails me back soon. October 24th can't come soon enough.

What's going on with your step-daughter's case? Still no CC? What's taking so long? :ranting:

Tomorrow is 6weeks since I sent in the i-864a for my wife hopefully case complete

Is that 6 weeks since you sent in the original packages or since you got the checklist? Maybe I am remembering incorrectly but I though you had a checklist 2 weeks after sending in the paper work. Hopefully we are lucky and have our papeer work reviewed as fast as it took for you to get a checklist. I have however been reading that NVC is becoming slower now so we'll see. after finishing the DS260 it said expect it to take 30 days to have the paper work reviewed. I hope you get your case complete soon.

I just received an email back from SLEC! They told me that the results are available, and that my husband can come in on the 17th for his vaccinations :dancing: Now we just have to get through the CFO seminar and the interview, and we'll be home free! Praying that you guys get your CC soon.

That's good news. I hope the interview goes well and the visa is delivered quickly.
