Lost approval confirmation form for K-1

Hi everyone,

It's been almost a month since I got my NOA 2 and I have not received the approval confirmation in the mail. I called USCIS and they just told me I have to wait until a month is over to ask for another copy. Should I email the service center at this point? I'm freaking out because my fiancé will need that for the interview.

Additionally, I have called NVC once a week for the past 3 weeks and they still have not received our packet. Should I be calling more frequently? Should I be freaking out?

Hi,

Breathe! Don't freak out. The NOA2 is not strictly needed for the interview (it's just recommended, I have not heard of anyone ever asked to show it). It is needed for AOS - but there's plenty of time for that. Make sure you're registered with the correct address with them :-)

NVC has been slow lately I hear. Definetively no need to freak out yet (wouldn't do any good if you did either). Calling more frequently will not help anything - worst case they might get sick of you and put your case in a slow pile (that's a joke, but who knows).

Thanks for the reply! I do have the right address on file because I received confirmation of the NOA1. Is there a way to attain it after we receive the visa and when we apply for AOS?

There's a form you can file to obtain missing documents, should be possible to find by googling

You don't need NOA2 for the interview but you will need it for your adjustment of status after entering the USA. So it's good to get a copy from the USCIS.

Also it can take up to 90 days to for your file to get from the USCIS to the NVC. Call a few times a week and if you want email the ombudsman.
