I have a flight the same day as my visa interview

Just hoping to get some clarification.

My visa interview is tomorrow at 10am, i have a flight at 6 pm the same day.

To my understanding you must hand in your passport for the visa processing, which you will get back at a later date. As i am flying the same day i can not do that.

Is there any point in me actually going as I will be unable to hand over my passport.

Yes, go to the interview and if they ask you to leave your passport, tell them why you need to keep your passport with you. They'll give you a date to bring it back for the visa to be put in it.

Don't miss the interview

as you may have to wait an extended time for a new appointment

and your visa is only good for 6 months from date of medical exam

Are you flying out of the country or within your country? Because if its a domestic flight you can present other form of official IDs.

Im flying internationally unfortunately, so the passport is needed.

London will,have you send the passport back to them via their approved courier when you are ready. There will be an extra fee and your visa will be paused until they receive the passport. Be sure and ask specific details or phone number for how to have the courier come collect your passport for delivery to the embassy. "Contact the courier" isn't enough info.
