Yeah the next steps from what I gather:

we will receive some kind of notification that the NVC received our package?

Then we call to find our case number to began the online form.

Is this correct?

@UsSwedlover In case you don't know about it, please take a look at this link. http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

It says " you won't get correspondence from NVC when they receive your case from USCIS. You need to call an operator at NVC to find this out"

I called NVC yesterday and they said it takes 6 weeks from the date your case gets approved from USCIS to receive case number and invoice number from NVC. Of course, I'm not waiting that long. I'll be calling every week starting next week to get it.

Congratulations !

Did you receive it at your place in Sweden or at your wife or husband place in the US ?

Again, congratulations to you !

I received the hard copy in my USA home on 2/27 (I am actually in Sweden right now, so my roommate had to check) and the email/text that my petition was sent to the NVC got at 4:30 am PST.

The consensus seems to be that you have to call NVC to know when they receive your case; they don't notify you. Later you will receive a letter with your case number from NVC after your case number has been assigned. Again, VJ says you can call to find out your case number rather than waiting to receive the letter with your case number. Then you can access your case online and follow the status of your case there.

The approval letter states " If you have not received any correspondence from the NVC within 30 days , you may contact NVCINQUIRY@state.gov." So I am guessing you eventually do get something but 30 days? No way am I going to wait on that I am with you on the calling next week.

Yeah but are they referring to the letter with the case number as that correspondence?

Congrats @UsSwedlover! I called NVC yesterday to confirm they received my case, definitely call them in a week. It took 6 days for my case to get between Nebraska and New Hampshire. Awaiting case number now (and trying to stop myself from calling them every day)....

I don't know its not stated , nothing is ever crystal clear with these organizations. If they think we are just going to passively sit on our hands for 30 days before calling they are sadly mistaken. No timelines I've seen has it been 30 days after USCIS sent the package for a case number to be assigned.

NBA16... point taken. I wish I could offer some better words of support. Without knowing where the USC spouse resides, perhaps the politics with your senators are a bit better? Congress aside... another route is the DHS ombudsman....check out the link below.

If that is still a no-go... the USC can still make InfoPass appointments to get on their radar. I'm sure you were prepared for what might be a long journey from the beginning. Finally, I imagine you might already be working with a lawyer? It might be good to check in with one (if you haven't already) to see about your options. I realize this is all kind of generic advice, but that's all I've got. Best of luck, I know this is a tough time.

Thank you for your help. I think it's about the state my husband lives is. We don't work with a lawyer but we will need it i guess. Yes i know it might take even 2 years or more. Thank you so much for your advice and link and nice words :)

We should all call NVC in a week and then call each day after that to get our case numbers. Then we can stay updated as our cases have arrived at NVC :D

Hello

My husband called uscis yesterday and they said they still need more time to process our petition and we should wait until the 60 days get over for first inquiry (March 17th) and we can call them back if we don't hear anything by then

Hi NBA16 !

USCIS told us to wait for March 16th for our first inquiry too... I guess they need time to explain why they are taking so much time...
