NOA 2 will expire soon

My fiance and I are in the midst of the K-1 visa process. We received our NOA 2 in March and it will expire in a few weeks. We've received the packet from the embassy in Albania (my fiance's country) with the required documents for the interview. We submitted everything as they requested and 5 weeks ago they reached out to us asking for more documents. We are in the process of pulling them together, but due to some unforeseen circumstances have had many interruptions. I think we will have everything submitted next week, but there's no way that we'll have the interview completed before the NOA 2 expires.

I know that the embassy can extend the NOA, but what's involved in that/ Do we have to contact them to request it? Do they do it themselves? Is there a form to submit?

Usually it is an automatic process. They may request a new letter of intent to marry from the USC fiancé. It is country specific. Contact the embassy explaining the situation and ask what their protocol is.

Ok, thank you. I'll have my fiance give the embassy a call. The NOA 2 has to be valid by the date of the interview, right? Not the date of entry in the US?
