Question about crossing POE with K1 Visa for first time

I just got my K1 today and it should be in my posession by early next week. I want to move the weekend of March 30th. Can I cross the POE & activate the visa with my Fiance? Can I bring my belongings as well? Will the CBP have any issue with crossing with my Fiance or should I go on my own/with my parents instead? I've been turned away at the border before when I was in the car with my Fiance (didn't have documentation of ties with me!), but of course that was before I had my K1.

Put your old worries aside.......you have the legal right to cross now WITH intent to immigrate!! Who you cross with is up to you.

It's perfectly fine. It's also pretty common.

My fiance had me in his car and took me over the boarder, and no questions were asked. It's a good idea to have a manifest (just a general listing of all items you are taking with you - ie. 2 bags of clothing, 1 box household items etc)., many go into crazy detail, but in our experience they didn't even ask about the contents of the car. For my own peace of mind I wanted a document to show them had they though... Our processing took about 1/2 hr or so, so it's not a long time, but they will ask you some questions, and go through the envelope you give them (paperwork from the embassy). We didn't have any hastles at all!!
