Apologize, you can try calling them, it wont hurt like pch1 said,

I did and no luck..

did you talk to USCIS Tier2 officer and request an inquiry? if not, don't wait and call them Monday first thing in the morning 9 AM Chicago's time. and have them transfer you to Tier2 agent.

The inquiry should tell you exactly what's the status of your case.

I was approved May 27/2016 and I submit and inquiry and they e-mailed me the next day stating that my petition is in the process of transferring to NVC!! what does it mean by in the process ... I Don't really know,

is it still at the USCIS or the case has been sent, I Have no clue..

Hey guys, achraf, technically I'm not in the normal processing time because I petitioned January 2016 and was approved in 5 months June 8th. So I'm past that 5 month mark. I also read a lot about this stuff and I heard that the 5 months processing time applies to the time you petitioned to the time you get approved it takes about 5 months (a lot of people is way less a lot of people more, I think Scandi was more than 6 months she once said I think she petitioned in December/January and was approved late June...... So I don't think the 5 months applies to that if it is then I'm over the processing time.

Also- pch1 thanks so much for the info I saw that people called the DOS also but I believe that after 2014/2015 or something like that they direct you to NVC they are no help I read a lot about it.... The other numbers I will try though as I have never seen those, going to try Monday for sure THANK YOU!

I'm confused with achraf as well I got the same email that it's in the process of being transferred to NVC. I BELIEVE I read on an older post from 2014/2015 of someone being in the same situation and they got that email and then they still had to Continue being up USCIS and NVC's butt after that email only to find out that the petition was either sent to National records center (where people refer to that as NRC aka the place of storage where old petitions and cases go to "die") or they were sent by accident to a local office OR, they just never were sent sitting somewhere at the USCIS California center office unfortunately- and by the time the USCIS finally admitted it and requested the petiton then sent it to NVC it took a long time after that .....

OFCOURSE I hope that's not the case with me or achraf of mandyalex ofcourse but I think we need to be proactive and continue being up NVC and USCIS butts and speak to tier2s so we can find out sooner than later. I plan to call but no apps work on my phone like hangouts and google voice because of terrible internet connection here and it costs SO much to call them and I can never get a call back unless they call my sister and she pretends to be me. I plan on returning to the states mid August- end of August but really hope that by then my petition is already at the embassy so I don't have to deal with any of this there.

As of right now from all the messages I've sent other VJ members who haven't updated their timeline that they have reached NVC that are around the same approval date as the 3 of us- it seems like they just haven't been on the site and updated their timeline but have ALL reached NVC it's just the 3 of us so far that hasn't been received yet so I'm super scared for all of us and pray everyday not just for myself but for all of us to be at NVC soon. :(

AchrafMira1, I did speak with a USCIS Tier-2 sup, she said I should be hearing something from NVC within 14 days by email. This was early last week so no word from NVC as of yet. I also wrote my Congressman and a secretary from his office told me she was transferring the inquiry request to their immigration liason at another office and I will be hearing from that person this coming week. She said they'll be able to help me, so that's encouraging at least.

Farzram, I've checked VJ master timelines from members with NOA2 around us 3 and there are quite a few that have not reached NVC either. I don't know if that's the true case or is simply they have not updated their profiles, but I see there are many. I even checked country-specific timelines and there are a few still waiting for NVC. This master timelines search can only be performed on VJ desktop version, not on the cell. I also pray that we get our case numbers soon, hopefully this week, and for everyone else being delayed and hoping for answers. I feel we are getting close.

Guys, I am almost sure that your approved petitions are still setting at USCIS in the last stage for it to be REALLY transferred. NVC does not have your petitions as of yet unless you are lucky and get it tomorrow Monday. As far as the 5 to 6 months entire process, that might be true but not in all cases if there are delays and more back ground check. I looked at the portals of both Lebanon and Afghanistan to see if there was any delays in some of the members when it came to NVC case number...I really did not notice any delays, most got their case number within the frame of the 6 weeks and some in less than that. Then again, dealing with USCIS with all the security background check make me wonder if they started new process of more aggressive background check or not...I think that you really have to be aggressive and insist on talking to Tier 2 agent at USCIS, they can and they have the power to enter your receipt number and tell you exactly where your file is.

Thanks for the helpful info guys !

Mandyalex that's great news and I'm sure your congressperson can help I've heard it's a good step. I sent out the request to them over a week ago but have not heard anything from them at all. Hoping they can help me too.

Pch1 your right I'm sure there are extensive background checks now that's the only thing I can think of right now- perhaps because of all that's going on lately they probably have to do more. I hope you are right and it is REALLY being transferred and not just lost or something God forbid.

Well, Monday is close now and I'll be calling to see if indeed we are lucky. Thanks for the help guys.

P.S. What do you guys think about contacting ombudsmen? Thinking about doing that if I have no answers soon

Hello guys, I spoke with my congressman immigration liaison today and was told she will contact USCIS (CSC) and request a petition status update. The liaison also told me that 8 weeks was not acceptable and should had been at NVC by now. I should receive a response from USCIS within a week or 2. So at this point, it is just calling NVC every day and pray for a miracle lol, and more waiting. It will happen guys, just don't lose the faith.

Hey! Funny thing i also got an email back from my senators office today- I also called them. They said to just scan over the requested documents that they would like to help. Not sure how fast or soon they will look into it but I guess it's a start? Emailing them now with the requested info and hoping for the best... Also going to call NVC soon and look for that miracle lol.

Has it happened that cases have gone missing between USCIS and NVC? Was thinking if that's a possibility or not. I sure hope not, but this just seems really strange.

Yes I've read a lot about it- it's either sent to national records center, or a local office, or is just sitting on someone's desk- I also heard it can just be sitting at NVC boxes somewhere in a room. I've read so much there is so much possibilities that's why I decided to contact my senators office and see what they can do because that is what people suggest and did when they were in this kind of time period and it USUALLY helps when they get involved.

Hello,

I Don't think our cases misplaced or has been sent to other department,

USCIS INDICATE that our cases is in the processing of transferring to the NVC, That means they still have our cases for further process or en route to The NVC,

Contacting congressman should be our last option,

you don't want pushing The case to be over reviewed, inquiries from second hand might delay the process, that's my opinion for now,

i would give it more time, A week or 2,

I think were are Almost there, And matter of days or hours till we hear some updates.

I agree with you Achraf...contacting a congressman in regards to a case that might or might not be within the time limit is tricky. Each petition with NOA2 have an expiration date, I suggest that people wait at least a month prior to the expiration to contact their congressman. USCIS might get annoyed with people going that route when their cases are within the time limit range and to have someone from the top calling them. This might expedite the case and might delay it even longer...You are dealing with the government and they can always come up with excuses and reasons that a congressman can't override.

I suggest everyone just chill and relax for a little longer...let the process take its course

what do you think about this message, your petition is in the processing of transferring to the nvc? do you think it has been sent or still in the process of sending over to the NVC.

Plus once you call USCIS Remember when they told us, Please wait up to 90 days for uscis to transfer your case to the NVC,

and we are still within the 90 days and haven't been past due.

Farzram if i were you, i would wait a bit more.

I Have been waiting longer than you are and i want my case number so badly,

But we are at the final stage of the process and don't want any mistake that might lead to more delays.

My own personal opinion, I am 99% sure USCIS still have your petition and still, hence the "Processing of transfer" the NVC does not have it and if they did, you would had your case number by now. Like I said, if you can get thorough to Tier 2 at USCIS and sweet talk them to locate your file, am sure they can do that...You guys are still within the 90 days and if it does go beyond that, then yes, by all means contact your congressman, its your right to do so..

I did talk to Tier2 office this morning and mentioned this e-mail and what is it about.

the funny part is that The Tier2 Lady i spoke with don't even know what does that means,

she said it might or not has been sent lol, explain that to me, if they don't know how would you nor i knew.

if i know from the beginning this process might be complicated to this level i would have gotten married and filed i-130 instead.

it's Already to late for that now.

let's wait and see.
