Hello.

I Was wondering what does that means?

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment...

Should i wait for packet 3 to arrive or i can go ahead and schedule an appointment from now?

the documents needed are online and perhaps we all know what they exactly want..

Hey achraf, that means Lebanon has received your petition.

I searched Lebanon embassy procedures for k1 and this came up on their site. It said "new procedure for k1" so I think it's probably up to date.

http://lebanon.usembassy.gov/mobile//immigrant_visas/required-forms-and-appointment-instructions/instructions-for-completing-an-application-for-a-k-visa.html

I think you can go ahead and complete your ds160 and schedule an interview date :) double check with the embassy or on the VJ forum for Lebanon portal and see what others did but I think you can make the appointment on your own :) how exciting !

I think maybe once you schedule your interview and print out confirmation of it then you cAn schedule your medical.

Most people who's embassies allow them to schedule their interview online instead of wait for the embassy to contact them and send them anything usually go about it like that. Just call to be sure though.

And no nothing yet :( I called today they said it hasn't been received they told me to call USCIS to inquire. I told them they're supposed to be doing that according to the email they sent me from NVCresearch...

So I guess I'll just wait! Hopefully like you said by Thursday or Friday

I scheduled my medical before I even had the case number, which is possible in Sweden. They do require you to have the case number on the day of the medical though.

This is very country specific, I would ask in the subforum for Lebanon to make sure what the rules are over there.

Achraf,

I am assuming you guys have completed the K1 visa application online..DS-160 , I think the 156 app is an old version even from what I understand some embassies are still using it.

It is different processing from one embassy to another. In our case which is in Singapore, they do not send out email to notify the beneficiary, they will just mail packet 3 to her. We already done with DS-160 and paying the fees. I asked her to call the embassy on August 3rd and they told her the Packet is in the mail to her.

In your case and am just quoting the embassy information for Lebanon, they will contact you after they have received the case from NVC within 2 days or so, then they will mail out the packet 3. Remember its a Friday (day off in Lebanon for the weekend so take that in consideration). Once you receive your packet 3, you can email them to book the interview before you even send back packet 3.

There is no packet 4

That's so annoying- I think it's normal.

I know Lebanon and Afghanistan are different but from recent people I've spoken to who have had their interviews scheduled in Afghanistan- after they receive the packet they email you almost a month later for an interview date a month after that. I also have heard you need to just keep EMAILING AND EMAILING I think it will eventually grab their attention.

I emailed them a few times wondering if maybe my case was sent straight to embassy instead of NVC- they responded back once I went crazy with emails and said they don't have the case with them- a day later they emailed me and said if I have the case number from NVC they can try to fit me into the schedule ASAP.

Ofcourse with my luck- I'm still not at NVC otherwise I'm sure they would've given me an interview date for a few weeks out :(

Another update- senators office called my home number in the US and spoke to my sister- all they said to her was they contacted USCIS also on my behalf July 27th and told them to locate my petition and they said to give them 30 days to respond to my senator! They said they will give me more detail if I call the senators office myself.

I tried calling 3 times but there was no answer- I'm also feeling sick today so I decided I'll just try again tomorrow.

I agree 100000% this K1 is such a headache. Go crazy with the emails and keep emailing them even if they tell you their busy. I'm sure it will grab their attention.

What a joke this is! Today I received an acknowledgment email to my inquiry of 2-3 weeks ago to NVCresearch. On the email, they say that my petition will be forwarded to NVC in a "expeditious fashion", (see email below). Actually, they didn't even care to pull up the case or anything, much less do any research because they would had immediately noticed the case is already at the Embassy! What a complete waste of time and resources, I can only laugh  . BTW, NVC's notice of them transferring the case to the embassy arrived today in the mail...only took 10 days..

This notice acknowledges the receipt of a status inquiry concerning your approved I-129F petition. To conclude processing, the California Service Center expects to forward your I-129F petition to the National Visa Center (NVC) in an expeditious fashion.

At the time your I-129F is forwarded to the NVC, you will receive a transfer notice confirming the shipment of the petition. After you receive the transfer notice, please understand that it takes a period of time for the NVC to update its systems. We recommend you wait 90 to 120 days prior to inquiring with the NVC.

Please note the current priority date assigned can be reset by the consulate at the time of interview, if necessary.

Thank you.
