I just talked to my congressman Office and they send an inquiry on my behalf,

The funny thing is the person who i talked to turns to be an old friend of mine and he's been working there for a while and i also knew his family!!

He already submit the inquiry and willing to help to the maximum he could.

lets hope that will lead to some updates or at least any information to where my case is at the moment.

Awesome! Hopefully that inside contact of yours can help and get things finally moving for you. You definitely had waited long enough. Hang in there, it will happen

I just talked to friend of mine who have knowledge about the NVC situation . From what I understood, the NVC have thousands of files that are stacking up on top of each others waiting for processing and its a matter of time to get to each one of them. NVC is running behind with the thousands and thousands of applications that are waiting for visas and case number to be assigned. Summer time is the busiest time for processing application not to mention not having enough man power to catch up.

Hello, PCH1

I TOTALLY AGREE with you on that.

But why many people who were approved in beginning and mid of June and July have their case numbers and we are not? lol,

is it a lottery and luck or some must happened to delay our cases?

I agree it's a busy time also- which explained the backlog and why it was taking people more than the usual 2-4 weeks to get there.

But I think the emails and info we got from both USCIS and NVC shows that our case isn't at NVC. I think if USCIS sent it in the order it was approved and it was just sitting at NVC they would've given us a date it was sent by now. I don't think they were sent in order or something and we just ended up being the unlucky ones who didn't get a chance to get there in the early batches like we were supposed to.

Idk tho. Anything is possible at this point. It can be anywhere- USCIS or NVC. But according to our emails we got and inquires I'm hopeful it's not lost.

Achraf, that is a good questions and I wonder why myself...I was told also that USCIS ship files not in boxes but rather in Pallets...true or not but this what I was told.. also here is some information I read online...I wonder if there are system on how petitions are handled and I don't know what is Urgent, expedite and current means...

The National Visa Center (NVC)

The NVC is operated by a private contractor with more than 400 employees. The Department of State has five supervisory employees who work there. The FBI has one employee assigned to the NVC.

The NVC receives between 15,000 and 20,000 petitions per month from the USCIS of the following types:

I-130 – Relative

I-140 – Employee

I-129F – Fiancé

I-129 – K1 and K3 LIFE Act

I-600/A – Orphan

I-730 – Asylee/Refugee

I-529 – Investment

I-360 – Special Immigrant

When an approved petition is received by the NVC, it is placed into one of three categories (expedite, current, non-current), and sorted by visa classification and priority date. The NVC enters the remaining data that has not already been transferred electronically from the CIS to the NVC. The NVC then assigns a case number which consists of the three letter consular post designator, the Julian date (+500) and the number of petitions designated for that particular post that day.

Typically, the NVC has approximately two million files on hand on any particular day. Bar codes are used to track transfers and file locations and prevent misfiling or other record loss.

Expedite files consist of the following types of filings:

I-129F – Fiancé

I-129 – K1 and K3 LIFE Act

I-730 – Asylee/Refugee

I-600/A – Orphan

These files and processed and transferred to overseas consular posts within one week of initial receipt. The only exception is in cases where a security advisory opinion is required. In such cases, the NVC will forward the case together with the security advisory opinion when it is received.

Hey guys any updates?

As for me the senators office told me they spoke to NVC today on my behalf and requested they look into the matter ASAP. They did and said they don't have the file in the building but are working with USCIS to obtain the file as soon as they can and would contact my senators office when they have news.

I didn't call NVC yesterday because I didn't want to be disappointed once again lol, and probably won't call them today either.

Hi there, nothing new here. I also didn't call yesterday but my fiancee wants me to check so I might call later today. No word from my congressman either, they say it could take up to 2 weeks to hear back from NVC. Glad to hear at least they are researching on your case. Let's keep each other updated.

Maybe today is your lucky day! You never know! Definetly will keep each other updated. I hope we get there soon this wait is devastating:(

Yes farzram, it is my lucky day indeed!!! I just got off the phone with NVC and they FINALLY received my case and provided me the case and invoice number! It took exactly 56 days since NOA2 but is finally here. The agent told me the case was entered in the system late yesterday and will take a few days before is forwarded to the embassy. I suggest you keep calling NVC and ask for the number, don't get discouraged. If they ask you for the beneficiary name, DOB, and also your name after you give them the case number, it means your case has been received. If they don't ask you for that information, it isn't in the system yet :( I knew exactly they had the case number as soon as the agent started asking me those questions since they never got to it before. Hang in there friend, your lucky day will come even sooner of what you think.
