FOUR months since interview, NO VISA!

Anyone know what on earth is going on here? my wife had her interview at the US embassy in Islamabad on Dec. 1 2006 and she still has not received her passport back even though they said it should take about 45-60 days. We are told the case is under 'adminitrative processing' which appartently is the same as a security clearance type background check and its being done in Washington Dc of all places!! HOW ABSURD!! Has anyone ever heard of such a thing?? My wife has never even been to the US nor has she stepped a foot outside of Asia! Its so disheartening - no honeymoon either! :crying:

5/23/03: Justin arrives to visit me in IA from SK.
6/7/03: We got married!
8/23/03: Filed I-130 from SK
8/25/03: Phoned border guards & asked if J could escort me back to IA, yes.
8/26/03: Arrive in IA
8/27/03: Went to USCIS local office to ask if J could stay in the US and file papers, yes
2004: I-130 approved!
6/05: Filed AOS/EAD
7/2/05: Rec'd receipt for I-485
8/05: Rec'd RFE for Biometrics
9/9/05: Rec'd RFE for medical
12/2/06: EAD APPROVED!
12/5/06: EAD card rec'd
1/15/06: AOS interview date for 4/11/06 at 11:00 a.m.
4/11/06: APPROVED!!!!!! NO MORE USCIS FOR 10 YEARS!!! WOOHOO!!! 2016...seems more like a page # than a year. Haha.

hiii......i gota same story....

i am us citizen and my wife got k-3 visa interview in u.s embassy islamabad pakistan on nov 27th, 07.. interview went well...that what she was told but then consular told her and gave a BLUE LETTER stating administrative processing is needed from WASHINGTON. now its been 5 months exactly on APRIL 27. 08 i call state dept several times a week and they tell me she is still pending "SECURITY CLEARANCE".. no nothng yet............i mean we are on the 5th month now....

It seems as if the interview date is really when the process begins.

**** filed K3/CR1 concurrently. My wife and I both work/live overseas. The following timeline continues from the approval of the K3 VISA.
