Hello everyone my finance and I have a couple of questions,

I am the petitioner for my beautiful fiancé from brazil (L) and we have received our noa1 (yay!) and now we are patiently (trying to be anyway) waiting for our noa2! Our questions are:

  1. What exactly do we need to schedule her medical exam and our interview? How long does it take to get the medical part done?
  2. There have been some postings about a packet 3 & 4 but do we send them back...keep them...we need some guidance with those!

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you all!

You wait now

The medical exam is far away in timing

USCIS will look to see if all documents are with your application /

then mail to NVC and you will receive a new case number for Brazil embassy

after they check for needed documetns, you will send in anything they need

then case will go to embassy and you will have to check for doctors on the US immigration list

don't do anything till immigration tells you

the medical exam is done just before the interview as she has 6 months after medical to travel to US (if visa is approved)

Best of luck to you

The actual question was what do we need to get the medical exam and interview scheduled. I know it's a number, but where and when to find it? We already know the correct doctor and the exams i'll need, we just need to find out, for planning purposes, when we'll be able to schedule them. Which document will have the numbers we need to pay the fee, complete DS160 and schedule interview and medical. I know its impossible to know the date, but we need to know in which document will have that information.

we are mostly questioning because all blogs I found here in Brazil do not mention anything about returning any documents to the embassy, just taking them to the consulate at the time of the interview. Can consulates have different procedures about that?

It seems that for Brazil they don't send out the packet 3 just packet 4 containing all of the info that we are going to need!

Once your petition is approved by uscis, they will send it to nvc. The petitioner will be contacted by the consulate via email after they get the case file from the Nvc.

In this email you'll receive all the information regarding your case number, where to sign up to schedule interview, which documents you'll need, which doctors to go, etc.

Don't start worrying just yet, there's still time. And after they contact you, you'll still have ample time to do everything.

If needed, you can send me a message in Portuguese or English, I can try and help.

Good luck

This is a bit outdated. I suggest you go directly into the consulates website, they have better info there. Now k1s can schedule their own appointments, the payment is done online. It got a lot better.

Good luck
