Financial Expedite Help

So, I'm thinking about requesting a financial expedite for hardship. I presently live with my husband in Canada here on a work permit. We're married, but my authorization to work will end in a month and a half. It appears that Nebraska (where we've been sent) is not doing any sort of expedites for sponsors living abroad, and if anything is going even more slowly than the other service centers.

My argument for hardship is twofold:

1) When my work permit expires I can stay in Canada but not work. My husband's take-home pay is almost exactly our rent (Toronto is expensive). 6 months of this will wipe out all our liquid savings in Canada, which is not a lot. I can submit his pay stub and our rental agreement to substantiate this.

2) If I returned to the US, I would be able to work, but then we would have the expense of two households, which completely negates the benefit of working in the US.

Does anyone have any experience with requesting this kind of an expedite. With either option there will be real financial hardship for both of us, and option 2 requires dividing our currently functioning household. I'm not even exactly sure about how to submit the documentation on requesting the expedite...I just see a phone number.

Any suggestions are very welcome!

Maybe one or both of you can find a second job, find ways to cut your expenses, move to a cheaper location, or get financial help from family. Trying to get an expedite for the reasons you stated isn't going to happen. There are many couples having to support two households and it's also financially draining for us too. So don't be surprised to hear comments such as why your case should be treated differently than ours. Anyway, I wish you luck. But I am curious how you intended to handle the I-864.

We are also managing two households. When my husband lost his job in Seattle and was unemployed for some months I had to support him too. I moved out of my nice 2-bed place into one room in a friend's house. It's what I had to do.

Most applicants are struggling financially with two households and the cost of visiting. In fact, many can't afford to visit. How far are you from the border that you could get a job in the USA but live in Canada? Not even sure if that's feasible but I know it happens here in the UK with the Irish republic, for example.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

That sounds like exactly the reason for auto expedites for couples living abroad at the time of filing. What's frustrating is how distorted the waiting times are. DCF in the UK might take a month. Anyone from the Philippines gets approved in no time. Yet for the closest neighboring country, hardships are meant to be endured.

Indeed. You can see from my timeline how long we have been waiting for NOA2. DCF and Philippines cases have filed, interviewed and arrived at POE in that time. And this is our second visa journey. We've already been through the process to try and get my husband into the UK. Denied and lifetime ban. He can't even visit. No appeal possible. So, unlike many couples, we only have one choice as to where we can live together. Although I do have another passport and we will look at going there if ncessary.
