Was "Flagged" At the Border, Could this affect my K-1 visa?

I'm mexican and live by the border. People I know have been told the same at the border for different reasons: crossing too often, driving an american car, etc, and therefore suspected to be working in the US or living there. However none of them were doing anything ilegal so they continued crossing through the same routine and nothing happen, they weren't even sent to secondary again, just normal border questioning.

I don't think it will affect you specially since you weren't actually denied or found doing anything ilegal.

I'm also from Canada, and the last time I entered the states to see my partner I was also entering for 3 months!
They pulled me into secondary and got me to provide a letter from my employer stating my intention to return back to work in Canada after my trip to the US - they didn't tell me I would be flagged, but I also assumed it was a safe guess based on circumstances.

We ended up getting engaged during that 3 month trip and now I'm back in Canada waiting out the process
What I'm trying to say is I think you'll be fine, and I'm in the same boat as you too!

I got pulled up once as the officer thought I was spending too much time in the US. He said that there was no such thing as a "visiting my girlfriend visa". I was admitted to the US, but I didn't return for another trip for a few months as it shook me up a little.

I had no problems with the K1, and you won't either. I was always honest with immigration, on the basis that its better to be denied entry for being honest, than for lying. You told the truth, and they let you in. It won't negatively affect your k1, if anything it might help a little (clearly you are in a genuine relationship hence wanted to spend that time in the US). Relax, it won't be a problem.

Thanks for the reply, I had one more question and this one is kind of weird. Are there any Education Requirements? I never actually finished Highschool (I know, I know pretty stupid of me not too.) And have been working off and on since. Would that potentially be an issue even if my S/O / Co-Sponsor can show that they make over the poverty line?

OP: Stop worrying. You're fine. And no, your education is not a factor. The only thing it might be a factor on is when looking for work in the US (if an employer would like to see that you have finished high school/GED), once you are adjusted and established.

Its not a problem. I have 2 degrees (including a masters) but they never asked anything about those. You're not getting the visa by virtue of education etc (it would be relevant for work related visas)... its by virtue of marrying your US partner - so the only certificate that matters is the marriage certificate! Some of the people going via K1 can't even speak English - but again, that doesn't matter.

Being almost denied entry for what appeared to be immigrant intent has no bearing on your eligibility to receive a visa that has immigrant intent.
