The NVC already has my sister's case in file since May, 2015, waiting for their priority date ( Sep,1997) . At this point, I haven't received any updates and I would like to ask how long more do I have to wait until they call my sister for their appointment at the NVC. According to the NVC bulletin, they are currently working on April 15, 1997. They have been working on April priority dates for the past 6 months. This seems excessively long to me. Does anyone know how quickly they process files?

Thank you, I really appreciate your help!

It's stuck at April 1997 because they are out of visas for the year. It has nothing to do with them being excessively long. They can't advance the PD if they are out of visas.

Contact the NVC. At this point, the petitioner should have been contacted about paying the IV and AOS fees.
