Has she completed her bachelor's degree and is already in the MD studies program? Seems like if she is in the middle of a doctoral studies program then that might be a good tie to home to emphasize. Especially if it's a difficult doctoral program to get into. I mean why would someone go through the expense and effort to attempt to become an MD and then throw it away by not returning from a visit to the US?

And yes, you do end up throwing away most if not all of the education and certification in medical fields acquired abroad when you immigrate here. I'm guessing most CO's know this.
