Syrian Fiance... Where would she interview!

Hi, I am a US citizen, and I want to apply for my Syrian fiance for a k-1 Visa. The original plan was to request the interview site to be in Amman, Jordan. There used to be a link on the Amman's embassy's website stating that the embassy does send a notice to the airport for the scheduled interviews so that it may facilitate the entry of the syrian fiance to Jordan at the airport (no guarantees were made though). Recently, I heard that Jordan are not letting any Syrians to get into Jordan even if they have an interview scheduled, but we are not %100 sure about the validity of this claim. It is from what people are saying to each other. I went on the embassy's website in Amman to check if there were any changes. I found that the link that was stating that they "send a notice to the airport" that this syrian fiance is scheduled for an interview in Amman has disappeared. It actually says that "this page is no longer available". I am not sure if that indicate a change of where syrians are supposed to interview (as in Amman is currently not taking any interviews).

I am also hearing that the embassy in Beirut, Lebanon is not the best for the k-1 visa or any other visa's when it comes to approval rates. Here are my questions:
Can someone confirm that Jordan is not allowing Syrians to enter for interviews in Amman? Any Syrians applying recently and where are they expecting their interviews? Can anyone who have experienced the embassy in Beirut comment on their experience or what they heard (are they relatively fast/slow to move from one step to another? are they rejecting most VISA's as I heard)?

Thank you for all of your help

I read that Syrians interview in Lebanon.

Middle Eastern embassies are not the easiest, but not as hard to get approved in as Africa, especially for females.

Thank you for the reply. It is logistically easier for us that she goes to Lebanon. But do you know anything about the interview day experience at that site? People recommended a few months back not to do it in Lebanon. Did that change? Do we have a choice anyways between Jordan and Lebanon?

Our papers are straight forward and there should be no issues at all that I can foresee. I just have to apply soon here and I am wondering if they will ask me where my fiance would like her interview to be at or do they just send her automatically to Lebanon?!

If it's a valid K1 they aren't gonna reject you. My nieghbor's husband is Syrian and he came on CR1 and did his interview in Beirut, but he was living there. I thought Amman was the de facto embassy for Syria. When I wrote them to get my husband's case transfered there from Sana'a they told me no - because they were too busy with Syrian load. (He was staying in Amman at the time). I can't imagine then denying your fiance at the airport in Amman if she has a valid interview letter for the appointment. They know Syrians have to interview somewhere. Try writing in the Middle East forum on here. You'll be fine - it will all work out. If I can get my fiance out of Yemen - you can get your fiancee from Syria. Good luck!

I do not remember negative comments about Lebanon, do you have a link?

According to what I was told, those changes in Amman are new. They used to take Syrians up until recently. But now, I am told by people verbally that the airport is denying people from entering and therefore people are transferring their files somewhere else (mostly Lebanon). Again, this is all verbal talk that the changes are within the last few weeks. Do we indicate to what post would we like the interview to take place when we start the I-129f form?

I actually don't have a link. I am hearing this from what some Syrians are saying within their country. It could be completely false. They are saying that most syrians are being denied (not lebanese). I would like not to believe all that talk, but you know, you have to be at some degree of certainty before you start this whole process to end up achieving the desired goal.

If you want her to go to amman you should consider the risk that she might not get in and miss her appointment.

As for beirut embassy there is no rule I know two k1 one got denied but she was 18 years old 11 years age difference she doesn't speak english, and another who got approved the same day so if you met more than once have some cute photos to show and the paperwork is done correctly there shouldn't be a problem

That's great news for me. I can go there and get more and more cute pictures. That is not an issue. How long would you recommend that we wait after we physically met before we apply? I met her already a few months back and everything is going great. I just want to be safe! And do you have the contact information that you may share with me for the ones who got approved/disapproved?

Thanks again...

If u met few months ago what are you waiting for? Did u get engaged or not yet? You can visit her after you apply they will probably ask her if you visited her again after you got engaged and you don't need alot of photos they won't request to see more than a few so make sure u capture some happy moments
