Hi,

We will be filing for ROC in couple of months. I am the beneficiary and my wife is the US citizen. Pls see if my list of evidence is ok.

  • Copy of the green card
  • Copies of both of our driving licenses
  • Documents from honeymoon (Hotel receipts and 5 pictures)
  • Copy of 2014 and 2015 IRS Tax Return Transcripts -– Filed Jointly.
  • Copy of Letter of Confirmation from our bank showing our joint Checking and Saving Accounts, and duration of time we have had the account open for
  • Joint account monthly statements (shows saving, checking, and credit card accounts) since the inception of our joint account. We added credit card 6 months after marriage.
  • Copy of Joint Auto Insurance Policy for our cars.
  • Joint Auto liability insurance Identification cards for 2015-16 and 2016-17
  • Joint bills for gas and electricity, waste disposal, water supply and satellite TV
  • Joint vision insurance coverage proof and card
  • Joint credit card copies and statements
  • Beneficiary nomination from our respective employers for 401k
  • Emergency contact listed with employers
  • Documents from our two foreign trips (Boarding passes, passport stamps, hotel receipt, tour receipt, 10 pics)
  • One copy of our Kaiser Medical Center treatment
  • Movie tickets of movies watched together
  • Random pics from family functions (5 pics)

Will this be enough? We do not own house together as I could not contribute to down payment but our monthly mortgage goes from the joint account. Pls suggest if we need to add anything else.

Regards

The movie tickets can probably be binned as that isn't really evidence, anyone can go to the cinema together and most movie tickets don't show who paid.

Little confused why you aren't on the house documents, if you didn't have enough credit to be on the mortgage it would make sense but just because you didn't contribute to the downpayment? I didn't and I am still on the mortgage and deed.

As others have said, you need to include leases/mortgages. What about Wills or medical powers of attorneys? What about life or similar insurance? What about car payment history if it's jointly owned or joint car title?

The items 4th from last and the last 2 are secondary evidence, they don't show any financial co-mingling primary evidence. It's OK to include but doesn't help your filing.

If you add what I suggested you will have what we had when we filed last year and had no problems, 6 months later got 10 year. Good luck! :)

We didn't include a current lease because we're living with my parents, but I have a signed and notarized affidavit from them saying exactly where we've been living, for how long, and what sort of chores we do. We also included a copy of our lease from France (+ translation + translators certification)

 Wills are great evidence and more important in "real life." You can download a will from many sites cheaply. Fill it out, take two friends to your bank and have it notarized. Easy. Good luck!

I say you have a solid list. Just make sure your joint bank statements span a long period of time. For me, we sent 20 months worth of bank statements and everything was fine, no RFE. If you include that with what you've already gather, you should be fine. Didn't send any lease, Will or mortgage FYI, sent in just about the same thing you have with many month months of financial stuff.
