It can take many months before you will hear from USCIS with a NOID/NOIR letter to which you have to respond.

The entire return process can take 12-18 months, if it is less count yourself lucky.

I would not look for anything until at least December or early next year.

You were right. @Ebunoluwa

When I inquired with USCIS on Sept 9th as to whether my case had reached them I was told no and didn't receive any notice. However my Congress person had been helping me since Nov 2015

When they inquired about a week ago, they received response that the case has been under review since August.

Here's some interesting news. I just read on the internet that the lengthy waiting is a tactic USCIS uses to weed out fraudulent marriages.

I was in Ghana last week and went to complain to the Embassy. Interestingly enough, I was told that it COULD take up to 5 years to get my spouse here. I had been wanting to know this answer. (We have been waiting for 3 years so far.)

The Ombudsman has contacted USCIS for me and we await an answer (up to 60 days).

Next week will be 120 days since USCIS has received our answer to the NOIR.

I have considered moving there but would have to sell my house and my husband doesn't want me to do that. We've discussed it and continue to discuss to this day. We never thought in a million years it would take this long to be together. I've been to Ghana 6 times once staying for 3 months. My attorney is from Pittsburgh - mark Harley.
