I am a us citizen married to an egyptian man here in egypt.

I have a question?

1. Can i use this translated marriage certificate at the uscis to travel back to usa? My mother has cerebral palsey and the care giver i entrusted to take care of her

has been neglecting her care and i need to return to usa immediately. she is not receiving the care she needs.

I need for my husband to travel with me back to usa.

How in the world can i speed up this process .I have been married 3 months and have been in egypt for 4 months now.

i have received text messages from neighbors of my mother and family friends as to what is going on. What can i do? Please help..

There is nothing you can do to speed it up. Sorry. However when you come back to the US you gonna have to file I130 with the rest of the documents including the original and translated copy of the marriage certificate. You want to apply for a CR1/IR1 Visa.

You begin as I said with I130 and fess and documents with USCIS then your file gets transfered to NVC for more documents and Affidavit of support then it goes to embassy for interviewing.

Unfortunately the process takes about a year, there is no way to expedite it unless if there is a hardship that will be caused to the US citizen by the absence of the spouse.

Hi,

Sorry about your mom.

As a US citizen, you will use your US passport to enter the US.

An Egyptian citizen must have a visa to enter the US. Your marriage certificate is not a visa. Neither you nor your husband can use it to enter the US. The airline will not allow your husband on the plane without a visa.

It will take about a year to petition for your husband for a visa. There is no way to speed this up.

Best of luck.

*** Moving from USCIS to What Visa do I Need forum ****

As mentioned, if he wants to live in the USA long term, then she needs a CR-1 spousal visa, which is an immigrant visa leading to a greencard, and takes about a year to get. If you two just want to visit your mom for a few weeks to change her care provider, then he can apply for a tourist visa; these usually get processed in about 6-8 weeks, sometimes less, but would not allow him to work or stay long term. There is also a good chance of denial as he is married to a US citizen.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.
