eTA for Canada trip

Hi all, I have my Egyptian Passport and conditional GC. I am flying to Torronto and have layover there. I applied to eTA couple of days ago and I haven't received anything from them till now. Anybody has gone through this eTA process before assure me for how long will it take to be approved ? And is there a risk not to be approved and what to do then ? I booked my flight already. Thank you

My wife was approved in less than 30 minutes when she applied a couple months ago (she also has a conditional GC). And as long as you have a GC, you're ok now anyway. The eTA requirement won't be enforced until this Fall.

I applied Friday night and no response so far. Aircanda requires travelers to have eTA to board on planes as per website, though as you said, on cic.gov mentioned not mandatory till this fall. I don't wanna risk and go and get denied to board and lose my trip.

I was approved in a day.

It's been a week so far. My status online is on progress. Any suggestions or thoughts on what is going on ? And whether I am going to be approved or not ? Thanks

If your flight is before September 29 you will be fine without it

My flight is before that date. But when I contacted Aircanada, they asked me to have it, just in case. They highly recommend it and posted on their website as a must. That's why I applied and it took longer than I thought.
