NOA2 almost 6 weeks, still no NVC Case number.

Hi everyone! Our petition was approved on June 1st. 3rd week, we started calling NVC. We always get a "not yet received, wait for 6 weeks" reply. My initial frustration was how they can immediately say that right after you say your NOA2. Can't they just check and look around their database for a little while.

Anyway, I read in March filer forum about someone speaking to the Tier 2 at USCIS. So fiancé called USCIS, asked to be connected to Tier 2.

F: Do you have an idea where my package is sitting?

T2: No Sir, wait for 6 weeks before we look for your package.

F: Some people I know have later NOA2 dates but they have been assigned with case numbers from NVC already.

T2: I have no idea why that happened.

F: Do you have an estimate when my package will be forwarded to NVC?

T2: Earliest will be on the 6th week. But if you cannot wait, apply for I-825. Application for Action on an Approved Petition. That is another notice of action telling the USCIS to do something about your case. If you file that, NVC will not wait for your package, they will personally pick it up in CSC.

Question:

1. We'll reach our 6week mark by Wednesday. What is the next best thing to do if we still haven't received our case number?

2. Has anyone here tried sending a Form I-825?

3. Do you think this has something to do with the delay? We sent 150 pages worth of Proof of Relationship. We scanned and printed selected photos from the time we met, our travels, conversations and exchanges. I am starting to think thay they might be too lazy to scan a bulky package, and they will only deal with it if left with no choice.

If NVC still hasn't seen your case file, I wouldn't start with filing an I-825, I would lean towards calling my congressman. Just saying....

Bulking package?!! Relationship evidence isn't needed until the embassy interview.... 150 pages ... YIKES!! You only need a small sampling... and that is for where it is actually asked for... at the interview.

We placed and printed our pictures in a bond paper instead of having them printed and labeled at the back individually and putting them in a ziplock.

I met another March filer who submitted 220 pages! Though the beneficiary in their case is from London, we are stuck in the same situation. We have the same approval date, June 1st.

Yeah, the I-825 is $405 and that is our last resort. I would do all other possible ways to deal with this first before filing I-825.0

That is crazy! Ton of evidence USCIS doesn't have the slightest interest in... and if you had come to the interview with 150 pages of "chat log" evidence... you would also been carrying it back home again ...

I understand your frustration beatrice25. 4 people same day as us have been received at NVC. To others, this post has nothing to do about how much evidence is in the package. It has to do with an "APPROVED" I-129-F going from USCIS California Service Center (CSC) to New Hampshire National Visa Center (NVC). What should take no more than 3 weeks is now taking 4,5,6 and more weeks. CSC and NVC systems are not joined and no one seems to know where the packages are between approval at CSC and arrival at NVC. You would think they could put something in place like UPS, FEDEX or USPS. Documents in folder. Barcode on outside of folder. Scan each step of the process and travel points. Sheesh, they don't have to reinvent the wheel.

1. After your 6 week mark (funny, when I had the same problem in 2014-15, USCIS told me 35 days, guess they want to give themselves an extra week now!), you'll be able to put in a service request with USCIS. To get an idea of the potential horror you might go through, here is a thread about a bunch of us who had to wait months for our packages to get to USCIS:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/526480-noa2-to-nvc-have-you-been-waiting-more-than-a-month/

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if your packet arrives next week.

2. No. No reason to do it.

3. Ha, that is a crazy amount of evidence. I just sent a couple pics, no conversations, etc.

Thaaaaank you for the helpful link! :) Oh, the evidence? We followed the VJ guide in assembling the package. I have a little OC tendency lol. And, I am from a high-fraud country, my fiancé is a naturalized citizen. We didn't want an RFE. We thought sending enough evidence will make this process easier and faster. If we only knew.

Fiancé called USCIS yesterday. Tier 1 said that there is no available Tier2 at the moment. She asked all the details of our case and gave us a reference number. She mentioned that they have been receiving similar complaints . She actually sounded very concerned like she really wanted to help. She ended by saying that she will make sure that a Tier2 will call us within the day. Unfortunately, no one from USCIS called.

Hi! I called the NVC today, they told me to call 40 days or 6 weeks after my NOA2. I mentioned that it's been exactly 6 weeks today (more than 40 days). All the NVC lady said, "It's still not here." I asked for suggestions, she simply said "Email a scanned copy of your NOA2 to NVC Research."

Oh goodness. This is too frustrating. I do not know where and how we can possibly locate our approved petition. This waiting game continues indefinitely. :crying:

This is not unusual as others on VJ right now are experiencing the same no matter what Embassy they are processing through. You just will need more patience. I am running into similar version of the wait game with our Removal of Conditions. California is processing Dec 2015 applicants now with approvals and Vermont (where our file is) is still only now processing June 2015. So to me that's unfair but nothing I can do about it. I just have to wait. I have a feeling that when December2016 arrives and we may not have our 10 year GC but filing for naturalization. Go figure.
