Is my fiancee required to bring her minor child to interview?

Sorry if this topic is covered elsewhere. I saw several questions about being "allowed" to bring children. My question is a little different.

I'm applying to bring my fiancee to the USA on a K-1 visa. She has a five-year-old son who will accompany her on a K-2.

When she has her interview in Manila, will she be required to bring her son? He is quite high-energy, so his boredom there would increase her stress and could distract her from answering well. She would be better off to leave him at home with her family, if allowed. But can she leave him at home, or is he required to be there?

I have the same question too. I have a 1.4 yrs old son and bringing him means bringing diapers & milk etc

Do children need to schedule an interview appointment and pay the visa application fee?

Yes. Every applicant (except those applying for diplomatic visas) requires an interview appointment and needs to pay the machine-readable visa application fee.

Do children need to appear at the Embassy for the interview?

Yes. Minor applicants must appear at the Embassy with at least one parent for the interview. If the minor is an orphan or if both parents are outside of the Philippines, a legal guardian must be present during the interview.

Yes he needs to be there for the interview. There is no way around the Embassy's requirement as stated above.

Two visas ... requires two interviews... even if the other is K2 for a child. Child must be there.

Thank you all so much for the help! Not the answer I was hoping for, but it does make sense. We'll find a way to make it work. Just another step in the journey.
