Will my fiancée be asked to show proof of wedding plans

My fiancé and I have started to make some arrangements but with nothing 'locked' in so I am taking evidence of that such as quotes for venues, florists, sample invitations etc.

I also already bought my wedding dress so will take a picture of that with me. Also the engagement ring (and wedding ring receipts if you have them already) will all be helpful. Pretty much anything that indicated that you do have intent to marry.

Hope it all goes well for you! :)

Just curious if we should have receipts of wedding plan available during the interview? I have sent her the engagement ring receipt. That is all we have so far.

Thanks kyle

Nope. Don't see the benefit. You need evidence of a genuine ongoing relationship - up to the moment of the interview.

If what you do looks like any kind of wedding ceremony, from pictures to purchases your visa can and possibly be denied. Stay AWAY from anything remotely looking like a wedding. Search in VJ and you'll see many who were denied.

I'm just saying.

I don't get this...

So if you are going to bring a fiancé to the US on a K1 visa, you are not to divulge any plans you are making for a wedding during your 90 day window until your fiancé hits the POE and doing so is not additional evidence of your ongoing relationship? That doesn't make any sense at all.

I understand that showing evidence of an actual wedding having taken place, prior to issuance of a K1 visa would be a problem, since the individuals should be applying for a CR1 versus K1.

There is nothing wrong with having wedding plans in the US. That evidence is not considered helpful in applying for a K-1 visa since even fraudsters will make them - that's why the US Embassy will not ask about it.

Wedding plans in the US = okay.

Wedding plans in the PI = not okay since the K-1 is for a marrying in the US.

Wedding pictures at a K-1 interview = not okay
