Hi All;

Long time. I am in need of help. Before I go in into my story, first thing first, how do I know for sure what kind of a green card I got? Got married in March 2014, entered US on Immigrant Visa on 28th of June, and haven't received my green card in the mail yet but I need to know which one I would get whether conditional (even thou we've been married for over two years) or permanent, since I feel like we are sort of straddling both. Is there a place to check?

The reason I asked this is, I just arrived literary less than 2 weeks ago, but on my third day I found out my husband has been cheating on me... we tried to talk thru that whole thing and we decided to put it behind us and move forward.

Because we both felt that the distance was the culprit. However, just yesterday he came all the way clean, he said he doesn't want to be with me, he wants to be with her and left the house. He feels like he wasn't done with her.

I have no job, no money, no car etc etc. He "says" that he is not going to abandon me that he will make sure he supports me until I am on my feet but I doubt that. Sooooo I just need to know ahead of time what sort of green card I am going to be getting so I can plan accordingly. And also how long does it take to get it in the mail?

Please please please help. And if there is anyone residing in the Nashville area.. I could use a friend or two right about now.

Thank you!

You will likely receive a 10 yr green card but I want to say that I am sorry you are going through this. Do you have any other support here in the US like family or friends? You mentioned not having income or even a car. If he happens to completely abandon you it is be difficult here without support. He is suppose to provide for you but I hope it doesn't become a situation where he disappears.

Best of luck to you.

I don't have family here in TN. I hope he doesn't either, but that's why I was asking because I need to make sure what my game plan will be, if we proceed with divorce proceedings right away. Thank you so much for your kind words. So I just checked on line on the USCIS website and this is what I got :

"Immigrant Visa Fee Payment Received

On June 17, 2016, we received your USCIS Immigrant fee payment for your Permanent Resident Card related to your immigrant visa. We will be processing the request for production of your Permanent Resident Card. If you do not receive your Permanent Resident Card by October 15, 2016, please contact Customer Service at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/contactus. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

FINGERS crossed. Thank you!

So sorry about your marital trouble.

You should be getting the 10 year greencard, as it depends on being 2 years married on the date of entry to the USA.

10 year green card and he is obligated to support you

watch out for him to go back and forth between you and new woman

and i am very sorry

check online for support groups for your area / often there are meetings for people going thru seperation or divorce / it helps to talk to others in the same boat
