Got my EAD card on the mail yesterday but the spelling on my middle name is wrong.

1st thing that comes to mind is to check the spelling on my actual I-765 application that i sent and sure enough it was me who spelled it wrong :crying:

Called them, and read it also online that i have to do the whole process of sending the new application with all the supporting documents and also the wrong EAD card with explanation of its fault.

Now, the fee for my first I-765 application that i sent got waived because it is a part of an AOS package.

So does that mean if i attach my AOS NOA (I-797C) as a proof of pending AOS package can get me away from having to pay the I-765 fee once again?

Thanks in advance for any input on this.

Highly unlikely the fee will be waived this time. You are now applying for a replacementcard for an error not attributed to USCIS. However a call to USCIS might give you more insight.

So your EAD application you misspelled your name, but on your GC application you spelled it correctly? If that's the case, I'd just leave your EAD as is if you have to pay an additional fee for a corrected card. That is assuming the middle name misspelling is only a letter or two different. You might just have the EAD card for a few months (or less), so probably not worth the hassle.

Just my 2 cents.

thats a good point but will i be able to issue an SSN with the misspelled card tho?

No. You can not use an EAD with erroneous information to get an SSN with that erroneous name. If you do, your green card will have a different name from your SS card.

NEVER EVER USE A DOCUMENT WITH ERRORS & FALSE INFORMATION.

Either get the EAD corrected or wait for your green card.

So you don't have your SSN? Well then my advice is moot, sorry.

I highly doubt the fee will be waived . As for the error on your EAD I received a EAD with one error but it was my country of birth it just said unknown. My ISA advised me to just keep the card as is and if my place of employment says it's a problem then get a new one which I wouldn't have to pay for because it was USCIS mistake. The main reason my ISA told me to just leave it as it is, is because at that time I was on the post completion OPT and I wouldn get the time back that I would miss waiting for a new card. It also wasn't an error in my name , or something important. I was told. But in your case I would not ignore the error, apply for a new card and pay the fee
