Tax RETURNS or TRANSCRIPTS are called for for the Affidavit of Support. Tax TRANSCRIPTS may requested from the IRS as a convenience.

The Tax Transcripts simply reflect what was on the tax return- there is no advantage to submitting one or the other, except as convenient.

They are both official documents which are being submitted under oath.

Thanks for the clarification, I was under the impression that the transcripts were better than the returns.

Another question, for the "Affidavit of Support form (I-134)", I got a letter from my bank. Does she need the original copy of that letter or can I scan it and email/dropbox it to her?

Kevin

Does your income net the poverty guidelines? I made enough money that my taxes were enough, they didn't look at my bank statement or even ask for it.

If your are using the letter from the Bank to substantiate your records I personally would submit the wet signature, but I don't see why a scanned copy wouldn't be accepted. It's not one of the documents they request to have the original of.

My income is high enough that there shouldn't be any questions but thought I would need the letter. We'll just print the scanned one.

Did you guys really get a marriageability certificate? My fiancee said the chinese goverment stopped issuing it since late last year...

You don't need it if she's never been married. You also don't need the bank letter if your income is well over the poverty limit. We had considered getting the single certification it is possible it's just ridiculous expensive for something you don't need.

My fiancee got her's no problem from her local city marriage registration office in February, and it wasn't expensive, they charged 150元. During her interview the lady that collected her documents asked for it, so whether they want it or not may depend on who collects your paperwork before the interview. It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it. Edited by Chris and ZhiJia

Hmm my fiance tried to get it and it was like well over 2k yuan or something she said. I was going to say just get it, then I read the p3 and it said if married prior or something to those lines. So felt there's no need since both the chinese and english version of the p3 said pretty much the same thing.

Hi Chris,

I'm trying to fill out the DS160 right now. Haven't received our package 3 yet, but I know that the NVC person had given me a Beneficiary ID # to use for the online form, is that suppose to pull out a ID particular form to identify to the case? Before I got that #, I had started a DS-160 application already and obtained a Application ID # to come back to finish up the form. Since I have a Beneficiary ID # now I don't know what to use it for. Or maybe it is for DS-260 and not DS-160?

Just wanted to see if your fiancee got a Beneficiary ID # back when you got the NVC case #?

Also, I noticed that the DS-160 is a Nonimmigrant Visa Application form, whereas the DS-260 is a Immigrant Visa? Some other countries are asking for the DS-260, but our package from what yours look like and what the Guangzhou website publishes which is the same letter requests the DS-160. I always thought that K1 was a immigrant type visa?

Thanks!

Cindy

Sorry, another questions:

The DS160 form, on the passport book number question, I wanted to ask if this on the passport first page on the center right edge next to the picture? It has 10 digits very small print and is different from the passport number.

Thanks!

I have two questions. Previously when I filled out the DS-160, for my fiance's email address i used the xxxx@vip.qq.com

My fiance has sent in the Packet 3 already. I wanted to find out if this was where the Packet 4 would be emailed back to? Since earlier all we had filed for the I-129F was my email address.

My other question is that when we were registering on the Visa Appointment site, they did not allow us to use the xxxx@vip.qq.com to create the email. I think it's because the formatting is wrong. So we use the alternate QQ# email. 12345678@qq.com worked. I'm afraid that the email address change (even though it's just different formatting and it's the same inbox) will account for a information update. I wanted to find out if they will still link it together by the case? Both email address is the same and we can still receive emails from it.

Thanks!

The email you used on the DS-160 is where packet 4 will be emailed. They will also email the petitioner a copy. So do not worry. They are familiar with qq email you should not have to worry about the two ways it is displayed.

Packet 4 is downloaded from the USTravel docs website. I'm not at my computer right now, but there is definitely someone that can give you the link to download it.
