Hi

I need to travel outside USA. I'm currently in a processing to remove condition on my green card. I have received i-797 document stating one year extension. Do I need any stamp on the passport to travel ? Please let me know. Thanks

The challenge could be this and here is a scenario:

- you will have no problem getting out from USA

- you will have no problem getting in with I-797 at any US airport or by land (probably)

- the problem may occur on the departing airport where you will go/visit. For example the Bangladesh Customs and immigration is not aware of I-797, they don't see it that often and can't verify it. Hence you may encounter some serious challenge. I heard horror stories at the same time heard some didn't have that much problem. So it could depend on the person at the immigration desk at Bangladesh.

My 2 cents: unless it is an emergency, wait for your green card and then travel.

When we were in the middle of the ROC process, my wife and I took a day trip to Vancouver, BC, Canada. For the trip we took each of our passports, a copy of our marriage certificate, my wife's expired GC, and the I-797 ROC receipt/extension letter. We had no issues with either getting into Canada, or getting back into the US.

YMMV.

Good luck on your immigration journey.
