Unable to take a call from the Embassy

Hello,

Our Noa2 date is June 15, and initially we thought that we will have case number from NVC, and my fiance will be able to receive a call from the Embassy and schedule for interview before he leaves(July 18)

So, he bought a ticket to visit me during his summer vacation (2weeks).

We've been waiting for NVC case number since then, but still they do not have our case in their system.

So, here are some questions.

What happens if he misses a call from the Embassy because he is not in country? (He is thinking to roaming his phone)

Can he call later from US to the Embassy if he confirms that NVC status is Ready?

Or should he cancel his flight?

If you had the same cases like us, please share with us.

Thank you

The embassy will not likely call your fiance. They usually send the instruction package via mail or email depending upon the country.

Spouse:

2015-08-17: I-130 approved

okay so you applied for i-129f. noa2 date with june 15th. and your finance bought a ticket to usa for 2 weeks. it is unlikely the visa will be issued in time for the visit, as it takes about 5 months from noa2 date for the visa to be issued. so unless your finance has a b1/b2 visa or some other visa allowing entry to usa, they will be denied entry.

as far as scheduling the interview, depending on the embassy, it takes anywhere from 2-4 months from the noa2 date to when the interview will be scheduled. you will not receive a call, the embassy will send an email and a instruction packet with steps on scheduling the interview.

so unless your finance has a valid visa for usa, cancel the trip.

Call? What consulate calls the K-1 applicant with an appointment date? Check your consulate's instructions. Most have you schedule your own appointment.

As far as I know the NVC doesn't call you they email you once you are approve..

As for me my fiancé approval date is June 9th and I'm visiting him right now and staying with him till August I'm hoping that by that time I will have my case # and can make my appointment that way he can travel back to the state with me.

Thank you all for replies.

What I meant by a call from Embassy is that in his country when Embassy receives the file, they call him to ask his email so that they can send him Packet 3.

I guess every country operates in different ways.

Anyway, I will keep all your advices in my mind.

Thank you and good luck to you, waiting your case like me. We will get to the point! :)
