Great!

What time does she arrive in Juarez? The information window at the consulate is open from 7:30am to 1pm so make sure she gets there on time to go get the letter :)

You should be fine :)

Yep.. all is good. The embassy has the case and i have my copy of letter sent to u.s. so i will scan it to her for her fingerprinting. Then i will meet her down there next week for interview. Thanks for always being helpful.

My fiancee has hers on the 5th at 7:15 AM cool hopefully you can keep the date.

Same time and all.. See you then!

Did you guys wait until it was in transit or do you think its ok to schedule even if it hasnt left yet?

Here is the link to the post I mentioned before on how to track your package from NVC to the consulate, it's really easy to check:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/530927-how-to-track-your-packet-from-nvc-to-the-us-embassy/

I confirmed our case had arrived at CDJ using the method above and so I scheduled our appts and interview estimating a good turnaround time... but because we had a "computer glitch" the status on ours never changed from "In Transit" to "Ready" and so we went to CDJ a couple days before to ask for the appointment letter.

All,

Our case arrived at CDJ Friday August 12th and Monday the 15th the status changed to "Ready" on the CEAC site. However, I have been unable to pay the visa fee and schedule the appointments on the Department of State Visa Appointment Services Site because once I enter my fiancee's information it says that the case number is not ready for an appointment. I would imagine that I would've been able to set up the appointments after three days. Anyone else have to wait several days for the system to allow you to continue? Could this be an issue with their system? I've read other forums where people had to contact the CSC support which is what I did this afternoon, so hopefully they get back to me soon.

I would give it until this Friday. In my case I think it took day and a half, but I'd say you have nothing to worry yet.

I already had my interview and never got the consulate letter, but my fiance got it in the US about two weeks later after the "Ready" status.

In couple days you will be able to do ithe but I advise calling embassy to make sure they have it. We actually scheduled ours too soon before they actually had it and almost had a snafu but we scheduled a month out so still had time for it to resolve which it did.

My fiancee called the consulate yesterday and they told her they received it last Friday August 12th. I guess what would be too soon once I would be able to schedule it? Not sure on what the availability looks like but I was looking at setting everything up for the end of the month which is about two weeks out.

Question: i received my letter from NVC on Saturday, June 3rd. My fiance and i completed the ds-160 titled "non-immigrant visa" on Sunday. I am currently at the following site: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-MX/niv. I have been given two options after creating an account and logging in. Temporary Visas - nonimmigrant visa applicant or Permanent visas -immigrant visa applicant. Being that this visa is really only for temporary use K-1 visa and that the ds-160 doc is titled non-immigrant visa, do i move forward with the nonimmigrant option? Please assist.

Hi there,

You're actually on the wrong site - that's for nonimmigrant visas. You want the one for immigrant visas: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-mx/iv

So my fiance has his appointment scheduled for August 15th. I keep calling the Consulate and they say that the packet 3 has not been sent and his information has not been registered, meaning he cannot attend his interview. They received his case on July 5th.

We don't know if we should go ahead and change the appointment or hope that they do it in time. Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks in advance for the help. I didn't think we would run into this problem at this stage. I saw that some people got their packet 3 after just 1 day or a week. I wonder why it is taking so long.... :(

@MariaR323 I have a few follow up questions.. regarding packet 3. We have scheduled the consular interview appointment, completed the Ds-160 and scheduled our appointment with ACS. I have not received packet 3 or the invitation letter stating that we can begin the process... even though I have completed all these steps. I am planning to do as you advised, which is to go to the information window and request for them to print a copy of it for us. I am a little nervous, but I guess there is nothing more for me to do and hope that it will work.

I was wondering when you asked them to print the invitation letter, how did you frame the situation? How did you word what you needed? I want to be clear as to what i am asking.

Also, you needed this letter in order to enter the medical exam and fingerprints correct? I have the confirmation page from the DS-160 and the instruction page that highlights the details of our interviews and finger point appointment.

Thanks!

Caroline
