This has to be the dumbest thing I've ever seen. What does charging folks with killing cops as a hate crime do exactly? Killing a cop lands you automatically life without the possibility of parole(you die in prison) or the death penalty(you go to prison, then they kill you) no exceptions. It's either one or the other.

It would make sense if the penalty wasn't already pushed all the way to the end of the spectrum. Unless they're going to add torture to the mix, or going after the killer's family...

Did he operate alone?

See ya on the grassy knoll.....

IMO, no. This seemed like a coordinated attack, he had to have some help. Regardless, it spells disaster for the black community either way.

Color me shocked, you're against a hate crime charge because the victims happened to be white. Wow, didn't see that coming.

Good luck!

This is why there are people tweeting this morning happy about what happened. BLM has absolutely stoked viewpoints that led to the kind of rage a person needs to gun down a bunch of police.

Um, you might need to do your homework. Distrust against the police existed way before BLM ever made it to the scene. Since police brutality happens within the black and brown community on a daily basis, it's no wonder this horrible atrocity happened. And it's not condoned on any level.

Once again, educate yourself. I've been against hate crimes for a while now. If you want proof, go back and check your Orlando thread. But since I'm a stand up kind of guy, I'll help you out with that.

Naw, I think he used Islam as a way to justify himself. And there's a lot of material out there to help him with that. Which is a problem as well.

Oh and I have to assume since you don't think motive matters, you're not a supporter of hate crime legislation?

I know you've been gone for a while, but I've never been a supporter of hate crime laws. Why? Because just like AA, it shows that the system is broken. Do we need them? Yes. Because this country is inherently biased against minorities. So much in fact, BLM has made some places pass a hate crime law for LEO's. Which has to the biggest slap in the face for us since killing a cop either gets you life without parole or the death penalty automatically. I'm curious as to what is life without parole plus some additional years adds up to. Or how do you kill a person twice. Maybe hit the switch a few times before completely frying the person...

I'm against any kind of hate crime laws, since it shows that a certain group needs more protection against violence. We should all be treated fairly under the eyes of the law.

It becomes a Federal Crime with Federal resources

The content available on a site dedicated to bringing folks to America should not be promoting racial discord, euro-supremacy, discrimination based on religion , exclusion of groups from immigration based on where they were born, disenfranchisement of voters rights based on how they might vote.

All of a sudden? Put down the Percocet, I've made this claim before, years before when it was brought up. In fact, if you do some digging you'll find where I said I don't want to have hate crime laws in effect, but minority communities NEED them since killing POC and LGBT communities gets you less time and in some cases, folks are completely acquitted.

Yeah, and I still don't see how LWPP or the death penalty changes if a hate crime is applied. Not trying to be funny, just getting a grasp of the situation.

The Feds had 30 skilled investigators in Dallas today on this Crime scene, all because Lynch is going down the Federal offense path. Treating this as a hate crime gives the Feds a great deal of latitude in the investigation.

The Community and Police in Dallas need to grieve and heal , let the FBI take the lead.
