Time to receive Green Card on various Port of Entry

I am trying to figure out if PoE matters for waiting time to receive Green Card. This year a lot of my family members immigrated to US (unfortunately not me).

My 5th aunt's family went through LAX - 28 days

My 3rd uncle's family - RDU(Rayleigh-Durham) - 18 days

My 2nd uncle's family - JFK- Uncle- 1 months 15 days/the adult daughter-1 month 22 days/ the under 18 daughter: 2 months 17 days (this can be considered an exception as they some name issue)

My 2nd aunt's family - JFK- 2 months 15 days

Another distant uncle's family - ORD (Chicago) - 30 days

My 3rd Aunt : Scheduled to enter 30th July through AUH - Abu Dhabi CBP : lets see how long it takes

From the above PoE, it seems the airport that handles less LPR entry, the wait time is shorter.

Can anyone please share their wait times and the port of entry they used so to see if the above is true and also how long on average it takes for each PoE.

I don't think you can find an exact pattern in terms of number of days it takes to receive green card. Each case is uniquely different and depending on their PoE and load at DoHS, it can always vary by days, weeks, or even months. There are so many variables that makes each case so different that it will be difficult to track by the days. However, end of the day, unless there is any exception (errors or mistakes like you stated from either side), and with the ever changing system, usually it will arrive within 8-12 weeks after POE.

But this should not bear any concern as you will have your passport stamped for a year which is good for a year.

8-12 weeks is two long. In some very quiet PoE like Rayleigh, NC you can get in like 2.5 weeks. Same goes for Chicago or LaX. It seems if you go through JFK, you are in for long wait of 8-12 weeks. I am pretty sure some very quiet PoE will get your Green card in 3-4 weeks or less.

Currently many green cards are taking 6 months. The POE may affect how quickly Texas gets the information, but it certainly doesn't affect the speed at which Texas is producing cards. Considering that you have a green card upon arrival that is valid for 1 year, up to 6 months I wouldnt worry.

it has been four weeks since my parents used Boston as POE and there is still no sign of GC.

As long as the immigrant fee of $165 was paid before POE, it can take up to 6 months. If you do not recieve it by then, contact the USCIS, ombudsman, and congressmen. As I stated above, their endorsed visa is a green card for anything they need a green card for.

Lets wait two more weeks and if they haven't yet received the card, then I guess Boston looks similar to JFK.

A post has been split from this thread and been given the topic title "How Long for Green Card after JFK POE? [split topic]."

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
