I wanted to see if anyone is on the same boat. My wife's I-94 expired and I can't get her an ID even if we showed we got married. Any thoughts? I want her to have a state ID and we just sent the AOS package.

Thanks.

Ok got it. Thanks!

She'll need to wait until she has the EAD or green card in hand. What is is she needs a state ID for exactly? Her passport should do for ID.

The passport works but they need the I-94 form to see her immigration status. Sucks but they always ask for so many things at the DMV

In Florida you don't have to have the EAD to get a license. FL has what's called the acceptable documents table which is for DL agents to know what immigration paperwork is needed to prove legal presence. Our lawyer gave us a copy but it is also available online.

Maybe your state is the same. Good luck!

Lainie B meant that her passport is an ID, not that she can use it to apply for an ID. The passport should serve for all purposes where an ID is needed. So it shouldn't be that much of a problem that she can't get another ID for now.
