Hello everyone! I've met some confusing questions in I-485, please answer.

1. Part 1. Current USCIS status.

I entered as K-1 fiancee and then married US citizen, so who am I for USCIS now? still fiancee?

2. Part 3. chapter A: were you inspected by a US immigration officer? Yes or No.

What does it mean? I remember guy just ripped my yellow envelope, then i went to some room in the airport (i guess CBP office), was that inspection or not? Nobody checked my baggage manually though, only X-ray i guess.

3. Part 3. chapter B.

I've listed my current US husband there but they also ask: "Applying with you?" , should I answer yes or no? husband will sign up I-864.

Also, I know that I can fill out I-485 with my new last name "husband's but can I also sign up I-485 with new signature or I should use the old one?

Hello everyone! I've met some confusing questions in I-485, please answer.

1. Part 1. Current USCIS status.

I entered as K-1 fiancee and then married US citizen, so who am I for USCIS now? K-1 visa holder. still fiancee? No. You are married now.

2. Part 3. chapter A: were you inspected by a US immigration officer? Yes or No. You mark yes since your were inspected. It means you legally entered the US and CBP inspected you and your paperwork before you were admitted on the K-1 visa.

What does it mean? I remember guy just ripped my yellow envelope, then i went to some room in the airport (i guess CBP office), was that inspection or not? Yes. Nobody checked my baggage manually though, only X-ray i guess. Baggage has nothing to do with this.

3. Part 3. chapter B.

I've listed my current US husband there but they also ask: "Applying with you?" , should I answer yes or no? husband will sign up I-864. You mark no since your husband is not applying to adjust his status. "Applying with you" concerns kids entering on K-2 visas.

Also, I know that I can fill out I-485 with my new last name "husband's but can I also sign up I-485 with new signature or I should use the old one? You sign with your married name.

That part is not for employment history. It's for any groups or organizations you belonged to in your foreign country.

If you click the link KayDeeCee posted, you will see an example form and how to fill it out
