I was wrong calculating 90 days. I thought before 3months of GC anniversary . I mailed my I-751 on 26th but my eligibility date is 29th July. Thanks to USPS for updating my scheduled delivery date to 30th July.

A general question about sending payments via check... must this be on a cashier's check (one that you go into a bank and ask a teller to print for you), or is a personal check acceptable (one that you write yourself)? The instructions only say:

The check or money order must be drawn on a bank or other financial institution located in the United States and must be payable in U.S. currency

So I'm not sure how to interpret that clause. If it is the former, how do you know when your check gets cashed?

Mine was a personal check from our joint bank account (signed by me only). You'll know when it's cashed by looking at your checking account. Ours was cashed after 3 business days (5 days with weekend) and it was deducted from my checking account. If you have online banking it's very easy to keep track of when they take the money from your account.

Thanks. I sent a cashier's check (with an additional bank fee of $8 :bonk: ). Using this method, the money gets deducted from your account right away, so I don't think you can really tell when the check gets cashed.

So, as I suspected there is a reason why our check was not cashed. We had the whole package returned, because my husband, who only had to sign the form and mail it ... wait for it ... forgot to sign the form. Sigh. This is probably the most ridiculous hassle and oversight. He overnighted the package again tonight (I am not at home at the moment), and it should be there tomorrow. I can't believe I am now one of those people that forget to sign their forms (well, technically at least it was NOT me). I guess technically this means I am now out of this thread and into the August filers. Please do remove me from your tracking page, best of luck to all of us!! I will continue to check your progress as I am anxiously hope to have the form accepted this second time around :)

So, as I suspected there is a reason why our check was not cashed. We had the whole package returned, because my husband, who only had to sign the form and mail it ... wait for it ... forgot to sign the form. Sigh. This is probably the most ridiculous hassle and oversight. He overnighted the package again tonight (I am not at home at the moment), and it should be there tomorrow. I can't believe I am now one of those people that forget to sign their forms (well, technically at least it was NOT me). I guess technically this means I am now out of this thread and into the August filers. Please do remove me from your tracking page, best of luck to all of us!! I will continue to check your progress as I am anxiously hope to have the form accepted this second time around :)

I am so sorry :( that was actually one of my concerns, get the all package returned to us. My husband was mad at me for micromanaging everything, to the point of making him sign everything in front of me and create an exact replica of every document we send including making him go look to bank acct everyday after we mailed it to make sure the check was cashed.
