You called it. Received the appointment letter today. My biometrics is set for 07/05/2016. Please update the table? :)

I'm just bummed that the nearest USCIS office is 2 hours away from where we live and the appointment is at 8AM so we'll have to go there the night before and stay a motel. Would've been a fun mini-road trip if we didn't have a toddler traveling with us. But hey, as long as my case is moving forward, I don't have much to complain about.

Ah man. I guess I take that for granted since ours is 20 minutes away (without traffic). Hubby is actually on his way there now to attempt a walk-in since we'll be out for his scheduled date. He went at 8am this morning and they turned him away rudely saying they had 120 appts and walk-ins were only from 3 - 3:30pm, and even then they can't guarantee. We're attempting it this way before we have to resort to rescheduling.

As far as paying for biometrics, you should have already sent $85 with your file. :)

Did you apply VSC or CSC? I haven't been home since 8AM this morning, fingers crossed it'll be there when I get home around 6 !!

I hope yours comes soon as well!

Update for SENNABRIGANTE

Thank you!

Hubby did a walk-in for biometrics today since we'll be out of the country on his appt date (8/2). He was rudely rejected this morning right at 8 am and told to try and come back between 3 and 3:30 pm for walk ins but they couldn't promise anything. Luckily he was seen just before 3:30. The place was dead and the whole thing took about 10 mins. They stamped his biometrics appt letter and he filled out a form beforehand (Applicant Information Worksheet).

If you need to do a walk-in, I'd advise calling ahead to see what their procedure for that is. We were lucky it worked out. Fellow ROC filer bdrew612 had some good advice in case you call ahead and get a flat-out no - "If someone opts to call first and you get a no, it *might* be worth to try it anyway. Each ASC is different."

Good luck to everyone! :star:

FYI - He took all 3 forms of ID (GC, DL, and Passport) just in case, and they used his passport.

Am glad that it worked out for you! And thank's for the walk-in tip.

Oh yes, and don't forget to make a copy (and PDF copy) of the extension letter when you travel. Any case you loose the hardcopy, you still have a softcopy ready.

Enjoy your vacation!

Can somebody please let me know what is approximate time it takes once the package is sent and receiving acknowledgement letter at Vermont Service Centre please? Thank you

It depends on how many packages they process per day and how you sent the package (overnight vs regular mail). I believe it varies from 10 days to 2 weeks. Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Am glad that it worked out for you! And thank's for the walk-in tip.

Oh yes, and don't forget to make a copy (and PDF copy) of the extension letter when you travel. Any case you loose the hardcopy, you still have a softcopy ready.

Enjoy your vacation!

Thanks! ^_^ We haven't taken a proper vacation since our honeymoon in August 2013, so it's long overdue. And yep! Planning on scanning it and taking a copy.
