I need help if some one is facing  problem with 751 and 400.

My I-751 is still pending filed on July 7 2016. I did applied for N-400 with pending 751 which was fine according to USCIS as I called them and confirmed before I file for n400. My N-400 application was approved on time and I had interview today. Something very unexpected happened today. I went for an interview on time and they scanned my appointment letter and gave me waiting number same like other applicants. they called my number after 20 min of wait officer came out called my number from the door and said '' Sorry we can not take your interview as your I 751 is still pending. They asked me DID YOU COME FOR ANY 751 INTERVIEW BEFORE? I said no. lady officer told me '' you need to make sure that your I751 needs to be approved so if you receive second n400 interview '' DO NOT COME IF YOUR 751 is still pending" so contact USCIS and make sure that you complete 751 case. :-( They did not even called me inside. I really do not know what to do next as I already called them 25 times in past regarding pending I751 but they are keep telling me its under process and out side normal processing time. I have made 2 service request in past but have not received any reply too. Please suggest someting . The only option coming up in my mind is to find a Lawyer.

So sorry this happened to you. This happened to us, too, in Chicago in November. They would not do the N-400 interview because the I-751 was still pending. We were called to an I-751 interview in December, and it was approved. Card received. But she's still waiting for a new N-400 interview date.

Thanks for the information.

I have seen in this forum that Many n400 got approved with 751 pending case. I thought They consider both interview at the same time.

Any way Now again waiting game starts . #######

You're right that the vast majority of people have reported successful combo interviews. But in a few cases, that doesn't happen, and I guess those of us in this situation just get to exercise our patience. Best wishes to you!

So sorry about this. Now i’m hesitant to apply while my I-751 is still pending. :( so in that case, do you guys need to pay again for the N400?

God has perfect timing; never early, never late. It takes a little patience and it takes a lot of faith but it's worth the wait. ❤️

Hi, I am going to have an interview soon. A little upset and not sure what will happen in the interview. Could you please share your experience? What kind of questions they asked? Thanks so much!

Are you wondering about the I-751 interview? There was really nothing to it, it was just a formality. I don't think we were even really asked any questions. We had already provided so much information, and the officer knew that. The interview was only triggered because of the N-400. I hope yours goes as smoothly!

Just remember that the vast majority of people here on VJ have reported that they got combo interviews with no problems. Even in Chicago, where several people around my time reported having this problem, somebody since then has successfully gotten a combo interview, so they might have changed their policy. No, we haven't had to pay a second time; we're just waiting for the N-400 to be rescheduled now that the I-751 is cleared up.

The I-751 interview happened maybe 4-5 weeks after the non-N-400 interview. But we're still waiting for the N-400 to be rescheduled (it's been nearly 5 months now...).

I been to USCIS info Appointment yesterday to find out about time frame. Officer told me that your file i-751 and n-400 is at this local office and We will schedule your Interview in about 3 months so just wait. They gave me new 1 year extension in my passport just for safe side as my old stamp was about expire in 1 and half month. I asked about my friend as well and He advised me that if any one else is applying for N400 just tell  not to apply until 751 is approved other wise they will be at the same page too.

Hi everyone. My i751 was received on July13th 2016 at California service center and I filed for N400 before i751 was approved. I received an appointment notice for n400 about a month ago and when I asked USCIS, they emailed me back and told me both would be adjudicated together at the interview. Today I had my N400 interview and the agent said that I passed the test but he could not grant me the actual permission to become naturalized because the i751 was missing. He said there’s is no way for both to be adjusted at the same time because they are processed in different departments. He said he will ask the i751 department to expedite the process but did not give me any timeline. I am so bummed because I thought today was the end of it. I guess not... it has been 22 months (so 3 months outside of normal processing times). And there is nothing that can be done...

Morning all,

I had my Naturalization interview on April 2nd 2018, of which I was approved. However my I751 is still pending (dating back to July 2016). At the start of the week I received a letter in the mail advising that my application or petition had been transferred to the National Benefits centre for processing. Obviously everything is on a case by case basis, but is there a rule of thumb as to how long each case takes?

Thanks in advance.
