Don't rely on this. I filed in April 2016 at VSC. Still waiting...

That's insane, especially for VSC!

As Name O Boy suggested, I would definitely enquire as to why it is taking so long.

F-1 Visa: Academic years 2007/2010.

K-1 Visa: I-129F sent Aug 2013; Approved Jan 2014.

Green Card: AOS sent Feb 2014; Approved Jan 2015.

Removal of Conditions: I-751 sent Nov 2016; Approved Apr 2018.

US Citizenship: Application sent Nov 2017; Fingerprints Nov 2017; Civics/English exam March 2018; Oath May 2018.

UPDATE: My wife's ROC application was never processed at CSC. She had her citizenship interview on 12/20 and it was a double interview where the officer asked her questions about our relationship alongside the normal citizenship topics (even though I came with just in case, I was not involved in the interviews at all). She passed both interviews and will have her oath of allegiance on 01/18. Because of this, no 10-year green card was ever issued and the immigration officer approved the ROC at the same time as approving her N-400. We're done with this stuff once and for all.

Hold on hold on. So how do you know it was never processed. I'm not thinking to apply for n400 until I get approved for I 751. So if mine is never gonna be processed (just for in case) what is going to happen?

Because we never got the green card, nor any notification as to the status of the I-751. It just sat there and was not touched until the citizenship interview. If it's not processed and you're eligible to apply for citizenship, I'd suggest applying for citizenship. That way it forces the processing of the green card and the two separate case files will be merged. So when you have your interview like my wife it will likely be a dual interview. I hope that makes sense.

Hello! I'm new here and wanted to join the community of fellow immigrants on this journey. I married a US citizen and here is a brief timeline for my cases:

I-751

- Filed on July 8th, 2016

- NOA on July 11th, 2016 (California Service Center)

- Biometrics done on August 4th, 2016

- Pending ever since

N-400:

- Filed under the 90 days before 3 years rule

- Filed on July 11th, 2017 at the Phoenix Lock Box

- NOA on July 17th, 2017 (NBC)

- Moved to a different state after a week of applying for N-400

- Filled address change form online the day I moved

- Had an infopass appointment to get a I-551 extension stamp on July 28, 2017

- Biometrics appointment got sent to old address, so I received it late through USPS mail forwarding. Made an Infopass appointment and I was told that the address change did not go through for some reason. Then was directed to go to the local ASC as a walk in for biometrics.

- Biometrics completed on August 10, 2017 as a walk in

- USCIS Case Status online changed to "Case In Line for Interview" on August 28th, 2017

I have had no status changes since then. I have since made an infopass appointment to figure out what's going on with my case. The IO said that the NBC requested my file to be moved from California to the NBC to have them together. My case is waiting in the interview pool and will be sent to the local office, after which my interview will be scheduled. They said that my I-751 will likely not go anywhere because they'll prioritize my N-400 and basically approve them together on the interview date. They said my background check was done and there were no derogatory remarks on my file. I just need to sit tight and wait.

Yesterday, (after 4 months since my infopass), I put an online inquiry into my I-751 hoping to nudge them to push my case forward. This will likely do nothing and I will receive a similar answer to my last infopass appointment. But figured it couldn't hurt to hear an update. Our local office is currently processing December 20, 2016  (that was updated on Dec 26, 2017, but says as of "Oct 31, 2017"), so my guess is at least another 6 months before my interview happens.

If anyone here has additional insight into my situation, I'd love to hear it! If not, I'm glad to share my journey on here with fellow immigrants! :)

The most likely scenario (can't guarantee anything with USCIS) is that your I-751 and your N-400 have been administratively linked and will both be adjudicated at your N-400 interview when they schedule it. You should get approved for both at the same appointment.

However, remember that you and your spouse will both have to be there for the I-751 portion of the interview (you do the N-400 part on your own). So make sure that you both take the day off on the interview appointment, and both attend.

I know, it's infuriating that we get so little information from USCIS (which is to say, basically none!) and have to figure out what's happening with our cases through "context clues" but it is what it is! Good luck and I hope you get your interview notification soon!

Is your timeline updated?

Whilst I have filed for N400. I decided to speak with my attorney, who has filed a service request as I am out of processing time on my I751 more in hope of speeding things up then getting any answers. We filed it on Monday, and the automated USCIS response advised they will contact us by 1st February 2018, so under 30 days. Don't really expect any positive feedback, but willing to try anything to get some form of feedback.

Same situation here. I filed a service quest right away right after I was officially outside the normal processing time, I will hear from them by 1/17, we will see what happens. I made an info pass appointment the end of last year, the officer told me my 751 was merged with 400 at NBC waiting for the 400 interview to be scheduled so they can be both adjudicated on the same day. It seems to be a trend now for applicants like us.

Ye, that appears to be the case, I was told that, however they only stamped my passport for 6 months, as they said 'I should have an interview within the 6 months'. My stamp now expires in 3 weeks, and I cant get an infopass appointment to get a stamp extension, and start a new job this week. So all fun and games. Main reason for me putting in a service request was in hope it speeds things up, although I am not filled with confidence.

Congratulations!! When did your wife applied for the N-400? Is it when her 90 days window opened? And how long before she got a response in regards with her N-400?

Thank you!

God has perfect timing; never early, never late. It takes a little patience and it takes a lot of faith but it's worth the wait. ❤️

Thanks for sharing your timeline. Good to know there are more traveling in the same boat. I have exactly same coordinates as you do. I have filed 3 service requests so far but no update. The only reason I wanted to have the renewed card was to be able to avail faster immigration and not having to stand in the line for reentry. After waiting for 18 months, I just traveled out of country and came back using I-551 without any issues. The re-entry process was very smooth, no questions asked. Looking at the processing times now for N-400 and I-751, I think filing N-400 concurrently was a good decision. My I-551 is expiring next month so I have to get it stamped one again.

My 551 won't expire until mid July, they gave me 1 year extension. I guess you just need to keep trying to make the info pass appointment, sometimes it works like after midnight or something. We have few options with USCIS, they are mostly useless, but we have no choice but trying continuously.

Congratulations!! When did your wife applied for the N-400? Is it when her 90 days window opened? And how long before she got a response in regards with her N-400?

Thank you!

Thanks! She applied two months after the 90 day window started. She applied online and received an confirmation letter that her application was received on ELIS a day later.
