For ROC, is interview mandatory or optional? What are the chances of interview?

In general it is saying that only 10 percent of them they called for interview?

Hi, I'm new to this forum, you can add me to the list, when I check my status it says "On July 05 2016 we received your...". Fingerprints were done month later of so, don't remember for sure. I wondering if there still people with July 05 and still waiting.  Looks like USCIS already working on July 17, do they pick cases randomly withing a month?

you can file an e-request to follow up the status of your case since based on the uscis timeline, they already processed the I-751 applicants for July 5, 2017 on CSC location:

Received an RFE letter today. Please add my details to the timeline:

Filled date: JULY 13th 2016

NOA RECEIPT : JULY 18TH 2016

BIOMETRICS: 10/18/2016

RFE received: 10/2/2017 (letter dated 09/25/2017)

 

I am suspecting my RFE is due to the fact that we had a joint account but we did not had joint transaction in there and the lease documents did not had both of our names in there. Interestingly they have listed summary of some of the documents I had submitted earlier (including the financial institution name) so this is not entirely generic letter . Anyone wondering, We jointly own a house now so I am planning to resubmit with mortgage and deed documents and also add our life insurance policies listing our spouse as beneficiary and of course a long letter justifying our application.

OMG, I just don't get it what else they need if you already had submitted the mortgage documents!!! Who would've put their name on mortgage be it the fraud?!! It's beyond common sense. I think they just wanted to check if you are still together after such a long wait and I noticed people started reporting RFE more often now.

It's mandatory by default with the waiver option and this option is broadly used due to lack of USCIS resources. With the new administration all can change. Even though people do not report interviews on VJ (only few), they are planning to conduct more interviews which was officially announced. At least more RFE already is taking place.

Which exactly? About interview being mandatory with the waiver option? It's USCIS internal guidelines and actually very well-known fact. About conducting more interviews? It was an official USCIS press release 2 weeks ago and it was in all the news. It directly named some categories of immigrants (not I-751) but it also was vaguely said that this practice will increasingly be applied to other categories.

I read that too but I-751 is not part of it, majorities were for AOS and work authorization. Let's see for the next couple of months if they will include applicants for I-751, I saw many approved I-751 divorced waiver and non divorce waiver got their approval without interview. I can say each case is different and the adjudication of the I-751 is based on the evidences that you sent and the IO that handles your application, some IO were nice where some are not and very meticulous.

I-751 filed  November 2016 AND bio-metrics December 2016. I have  2 months until my extended notice expires. I'm also planing to travel back to the UK to visit family for Christmas. Should i cancel my trip ? Is there a way of getting an extension while my application is still processing ?

Try to make an infopass for I-551 stamp, if there is no available slot before your trip then you can just do a walk in to your USCIS local office and ask for I-551 stamp to your passport, make sure to bring your airline ticket and show them that you have upcoming international trip

Make an infopass appointment here: https://my.uscis.gov/appointment

If you can't find an available appointment, try to go to the above link at 12:00 AM (midnight). That's the time when they open plenty of appointments for the next 2 weeks.

Bring your original extension letter, your conditional green card, and your passport to the appointment.
