Correct, on 10/14/2016,  I am saying that there are many that had the bio in 8/xx/2016 and still have not received anything.

So lucky you and congrats!

Thank you!. Yes, my bio was very late. I think because my original application started at  Vermont service center and then transferred to California sometime in 9/16.

Why do we ask whoever gets approved if they've applied for N400 or not? Does this mean we're not getting approved because we've applied for N400???:o

I think people are trying to find patterns in what USCIS is doing. It may give them a sense of control... I don't know.

The theory goes that the people who filed N-400 may not be approved at the same time as others, because the two applications may be joined, and if so, the person will have a joint I-751/N-400 interview, which may happen later than if it was just the I-751 (particularly if the I-751 might have been approved without an interview).

I personally think that this will happen to some people, but not others, with the same randomness that has plagued all our interactions with USCIS since the beginning of our "visa journeys." But humans like to search for patterns, so more power to them!

I've moved states within the past 3 months, so now I can't file N-400 until November - so it doesn't affect me either way.

Is your timeline updated?

I went to get the stamp on my passport yesterday and was told by the officer that nothing happened on my case yet. She looked at the screen and told me the last activity on my case was the biometrics appointment being sent to my address. NOA 7/22/2016.

The whole stamping process was painless though. I was in and out in 3 minutes. Oh btw she didn't take my 2 year green card. She didn't even ask for it.

My wife applied for citizenship at the end of August and has yet to receive her 10-year GC. So I think that she'll probably get a dual interview (though I'm hoping that's not the case, as I don't want them to grill her like they did at the embassy prior to coming to the US).

:( That's what I was afraid of. I really hope that's not the case and we receive our 10year GC on time... otherwise we're waiting another couple of months/years.

I contacted USCIS back in August to ask if I should apply for N400 while I751 is pending or should I wait for that to be adjudicated first. The officer told me I'll be receiving my 10y GC regardless if I apply for N400 or not. Who knows maybe she gave me false info ... ugh

They will grill not just her but you too - you're going together I guess. Well, but I wish you not of course, just noting. That is why I do not file N-400 yet.

Well that's lovely, as it was my understanding per many examples on VJ itself that the application of the N-400 gets a stuck case pulled out of the queue and adjudicated quickly, with the green card being sent prior to the N-400 interview. I'm not understanding why all of a sudden they would stop doing so.

Unfortunately, I made different conclusion based on my research. Look how many I-751/N-400 are hanging here. Why aren't they pulled out of the queue and get approved together with everyone? Plus I've read many times that they combine interviews in this case. Filing successively may result in waiving I-751 interview. Filing concurrently may have USCIS invite you both for I-751/N-400 interview because it doesn't cost them a thing to have you both at the same time while one should show up anyway.

So a double interview isn't for certain, is it?
