I-131 approved but nothing received. Need to travel for my wedding. Help!

Hi all.

Firstly I just wanted to say how amazing and helpful VJ has been! We couldn't have got nearly as far in the process without this forum!!

I am English and entered the US on a K1 Fiance Visa. So far our timeline looks like this:

Jan 22nd 2016: Entered the US on K1 Visa

Feb 12th: Married my American Husband in New York City-Hall

March 16th: Submitted I-485 Adjustment of Status, including I-131 AP, and I-485 EAD

March 18th: Received i-797 NOA for all three applications

April 14th: Biometrics Appointment completed

May 5th: Received i-797 NOA that I-131 travel had been approved

So everything ran pretty much to plan until after May 5th: I received my NOA saying my I-131 had been approved and they will send out documents shortly after. I never received an NOA for my I-765 EAD. I waited for a month for the actual travel document or combo card to come but it didn't. I had to cancel a flight I had booked for June.

On May 25th I called USCIS and they submitted a request for information. The agent gave me a Confirmation number and told me it would take up to 30 days for a response. I never received any response. I had an infopass appointment in the meantime and there they told me that both my travel and my employment had actually been approved at the same time on May 5th and I should just to keep waiting and checking the mail every day.

I called USCIS back as I never heard back from my original information request, the agent told me my EAD and AP should come arrive 60 days after it had been approved (May 5th) as opposed to the standard 30 days as there had been a huge backlog for EADs.

On July 5th (60 days after I received the NOA that i-131 approved) I still hadn't received anything, so I called USCIS back and they said that all I could do was submit yet another Request for Information, even though they hadn't answered my original one. So this will take another 30 days. I feel like I’m going round in circles and not getting any answers as to when or even why this is happening.

I'm really at a loss right now. We have our religious wedding ceremony booked in London (for 150 people) for the end of August. I would like to fly to London at the end of July as I have barely done anything for it. But I really don't know what my options are anymore.
I don't understand why, if my travel has been approved, that USCIS can't issue me with a temporary travel document.

Just wondered if anyone had any similar experiences. Is there anything more that I could be doing?

Contact your senator/congressman to intervene on your behalf.

Consulate Received : July 30,2014 Transfer to right embassy complete.

Interview Date : Oct 22, 2014

Interview Result : AP , requesting another PC (not expired) and certified divorce decree (was submitted)Stokes interview via phone for petitioner 4 hrs after interview.

Oct 23 email notification visa approved.
Visa Received : Nov. 3 , 2014 VISA IN HAND.

US Entry : Nov. 21, 2014

Marriage : Dec 27, 2014

AOS send : May 12, 2015, received May 14, 2015 USPS priority

Email &text : May 18, 2015, check cashed May 19,2015, return receipt May 21, 2015 stamped USCIS Lockbox, NOA1 (3x) May 22,2015

Biometrics : June 1, 2015 letter received for appointment June 8, 2015, successful walk-in June 1, 2015

RFE : June 12, 2015 for income not meeting guideline. Income does ( ! ) exceed guideline.

RFE response : June 26, 2015 returned with a boat load full of financial evidence.

UPDATE: July 5, 2015 updated on all 3 cases, RFE received June 30, 2015.

Service request : Aug 12, 2015, letter received that it will be processed within 90 days from receipt of RFE.

UPDATE: Aug 24, 2015, EAD card being produced/ordered. ( 102 days from AOS receipt day and 55 days from RFE response received.) Thank you Jesus !

Emails : Aug 24, 2015, EAD approved, EAD card ordered.

I-797 EAD/AP approval notice received : Aug 27, 2015

EAD/AP combo card mailed : Aug 27, 2015, EAD/AP combo card received: Aug 31, 2015

First K1 denied after 16 month of AP. Refiled. We are a couple since 2009. Not a sprint but a matter of endurance.

Sure, give it a try. Go to the senator's or congressman's web site, call them or email for assistance. You have to fax them a privacy

release statement (you may be able to fill it out on their site).
Narrate everything you wrote in your post and have them inquire.

Thanks for all your help and advice. I sent out letters and asked for Ombudsman to intervene and guess what has just arrived in the mail? My combo card!! Possibly a coincidence as it all happened so fast but I'm very happy either way. I can attend my own wedding!! Hurrah!
