NOA2 now whaaaaat? (LONDON)

The NVC notifies the petitioner in the US that the case has been forwarded on to London.

The Immigrant Visa Unit in London notifies the beneficiary that the approved petition has been received, and gives Instructions on how to apply for the visa. The "instruction" Is basically to go to a specific web page to find the London step-by-step process. Both letters will have the new Dept of State case number. The NVC tends to be slow sending out the notification and the case is often already in London and the beneficiary notified before the petitioner hears from NVC.

Thank you

I did wounder why everyone was so keen to keep calling the NVC.

So if I call them and they have a number ready for me, does that mean London have my case and i can start the process (As per https://uk.usembassy...g-for-the-visa/) ?

Thanks again for your help

1) You can get your shots sorted at your GP and make sure you have all your documents for interview, including affidavit of support from your fiancé.

2) The medical people will ask for your LNDXXXXXXXXX case number so having it before letter allows you to book an exam. However there is not a long wait to get in so generally not a concern. You need your police certificate and immunization records at the medical.

3) You can start the online form filling. But until your case is in London the appointment booking system will not be open to you. It will just say something like invalid number until the magic time when London has the case and is ready for you.

No to photocopy of I-129F. The original will be in your file at the interview.

No to additional relationship evidence (for a London interview)

Go to your NHS doctor and get the immunizations you will need for Adjustment of Status. You can get a K1 visa without having any shots, but you will need them before AOS. Its extremely wise to take care of it before getting to the US so you can avoid civil surgeon hassles and $$$. Many NHS doctors will do them for free, but they are not obligated to do so for immigration purposes. Get the shots documented by your doctor to take to your visa medical exam. If your doctor should say you dont need something on this list, remember you have to go by US rules and that differs from UK standards. And you need to have them before your medical so they can be signed off on the official form. Otherwise you will pay in the U.S. to get any shots taken later signed off.

Here are the shots needed for 19 through 59 years of age:

  • Td or Tdap- Tetanus/diptheria/pertussis or get DT, DTP or DtaP and it will be accepted for AOS also. The latest shot must be no longer than 10 years ago or you need a booster. If you have a record of receiving pertussis, then the Td is okay for the booster. P is for pertussis, not polio.
  • MMR - (if born in 1957 or later)-Mumps/measles/rubella. It's two doses in your life, but if you get the first dose, and 4 weeks haven't passed by your medical, they will waive the second dose for "insufficient time interval". If you only had one dose as a child, get a second one before the medical. If you have a record of two as a child, then you are complete and don't need another.
  • Varicella - Not routinely given in the UK . A history of having chickenpox excuses you from the shot. They take your word for it at the visa medical exam. Just tell them "I had chickenpox".
  • Influenza Required during flu season only, October 1 through March 31. You get a waiver marked on your sheet.

Our petition left the NVC on July 16th and it looks like to takes 5-7 days to get to London.........

Does anyone know how long it takes for the US Embassy in London to notify the beneficiary that the approved petition has been received? Is it by email or letter? A bit confused over this and don't want to get too worked up too quickly!
