you may call me a liar if you wish, but do not slyly suggest i am making it all up and feeding everyone fabricated stories. in fact if you want, i can send all my files and documents personally to you. what a horrible thing to say to someone. if you have nothing nice to say, please refrain from saying anything at all. none of us come here to be trivilaized and accused.

I haven't called you a liar. I don't think that your case was just for a made up reason; I had been hoping you would share the 'why'.

I do think it is unfair to lead people to believe that they can be arrested for "no reason" after living many years in the US, that's why I think that there is more to your story, and I am still sure that it is very interesting.

I'm very sincere in my good wishes to you.

their reason was because we were given that supposed letter and hadnt left. it was homeland security Officer Wells, detroit michigan, he has since then been replaced with homeland security Officer Lewis, which has been helpful with my case and has been nothing but nice. full name is stephen r. lewis

The Vancouver Forum makes me extremely mad. I wonder what the consequences are for sending that link to USCIS.

???

edit:: oh, I get it now. I dont' think there would be any consequences for posting on the internet. No obvious ones anyway. Send it to ICE, not USCIS.

I think they should be arrested for visa fraud...I mean...though no...arrested is kinda cruel....fine is better I guess...but a big huge fine so they would be totally and completely discouraged to look for "canadian, american or uk" "females" to marry and leave Afganistan...:(

The penalties for both parties are steep, worry not.

I saw one that said the couple don't need to live together.. riiiight. You can see how hard it would be to get a fake case through.

Report the users to the owner of the website over there, I guess.

I should send that link to my mom.

just our of pure curiosity...what's the "market price" of finding an american citizen to agree to a visa fraud? was always curious just how desperate some people are

I should send that link to my mom.

google around.. I recall seeing everything from $2000 to $50000. There were a couple of big busts of organized groups doing this for one specific country not long ago (seattle if you want to look up the news). The message board ones freak me out more than the organized groups! There are also a lot of gay couples that will wind up trading spouses for this purpose--I guess it's the starving baby argument.. their need is great and they have no other hope! (other than all the other, usual ways to immigrate to the US)

I should send that link to my mom.

"gay" people are just as human as anyone else. I have served in the Cdn forces with "gay" people and they are just like everyone else. No one should judge another on their skin color, or who they fall in love with.

One may make comments about how different races may be worth more, but the truth when it comes to adopting children, the color of ones skin does matter. Was an article I belive in Time, as wel as a TV show that had it priced out, was pretty sad. No one should be worth more than another person.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

You stated "k i understand the gay couples but seriously how can people go so low? dont they have a pride? I'd rather starve" To me that sounds pretty negative towards "gay" people. Enough on that subject

Just check out craigslist.org the subject of illegal immigration pops up as well.

exactly...i said i understand gay people....but i dont understand the others that are going through marrying by paying $2,000-$50,000 (by bronze, silver, gold and platinum i meant bronze, silver, gold and platinum, not race, gender or skin color). I was an exchange student living in a black family and that was the most amazing year of my life...one of the greatest bosses and friends i had/have are gary people...i'm studying in an international universiy with ALL and i MEAN ALL types of people....muslims, biddhists, brahmists....asians, black people...

from $2,000-$50,000 i just repeated the quote because it's interesting to see how large the range is...whatever...I would probably the last person to judge anyone because i've been in too many places and have too many different friends

I know that on that Vancouver website there is a warning when you post that says something along the lines of, "Illegal activity will be reported to authorities, we will hand over your ISP to officials..." And it also said something about the RCMP coming into the website's office all the time because of suspected illegal activity. I hope they get in trouble, it makes me so mad. These sites, as someone pointed out, are all over the place. People looking to get into the US or Canada through fraud. I hope they all fail miserably. Every time I read about someone on this website (VJ) getting depressed or missing their SO, I want to slap those fraudelent people whose applications are taking up space and time. Sadly, this is the reality and at least the penalties for marriage fraud are pretty high. Not every criminal can be caught, but let's hope.

Kinzaza, I know you weren't saying anything bad about gay people. Not sure how someone could have misinterpreted what you said, but hey, it happens. We're all okay. :) I wonder what VJ would be like for 1 day without arguments. Seems like so many have "something to prove." Take care, all of you.
