Some of these are jokes, but not all. Some of those people are serious, too! I hope they track their ISPs and get in trouble...but it won't happen. Have they committed a crime yet? Is posting an ad for what is basically an illegal visa a crime? I would think so, but don't know for sure. It makes me ill to think how many sham marriages take place for visas...and how many of them are taking up space at USCIS or Canadian Immigration...so many here at VJ are separated from their loved ones, waiting for their visas the legal way, with true love, and ugh! I can't even form a good sentence. It just makes me furious. Just had to vent to someone I thought would understand. Thanks.

ha ha.. google "MOC" or 'marriage of convenience' andyour eyes will be opened....

that makes me mad, ive known my husband (in person, not on the computer screen) and have been dating and seeing each other all the time for 4 years. i used to live in the US for 15 yrs, then 9/11 happened and they sent people out, even though i was there legally, but there was nothing i could do. so i came to canada (from michigan to just across the bridge in windsor). and then we waited again OVER ONE YEAR to decide to get married. my 130 was approved fast, but then i had to wait for my waiver (since homeland security can do whatever they want even if i was legally for 15 years!) and that was also approved, no problems since i went to school there and college and worked and never even had a speeding ticket and did EVERYTHING right for 15 yrs.

and to see people making fun of marriges is just aweful. i got mad and sent soooooooooooo many pictures and letters from dozens of his family members for our cases.

they make fun of marriages overseas on tv all the time, and it's always jokes about convenience or mail-order brides and "couples" who've at the most seen each other a couple times before getting married, whereas i saw him EVERY DAY for yeeeeeeeeeeears.

yes, i am also mad, lol

and montreal is being nice and giving me a chance even though im not a canadian citizen/permanent resident. yay for my incredible sob story. boooooo @ homeland security. i lost everything after 15 year...

(end of rant)

I was wondering the same thing. If you were here legally...why would 9/11 have anything at all to do with your immigration status and result in your removal? Call me ignorant, but I don't get it.

ask them. i have no idea. they arrested my dad for no reason for 2 months, took our documents including passports. then after they released him they didnt give back documents or passports, but played around with us. they said they gave us a paper asking us to leave within 30 days. i asked where it was sent, none of us got anything. the mean guy said "to the last address the supreme court had of yours" i asked if he could check what it was, he read off one that was like 6 years old. i said "so if that's the last address they have for us, how did you get HERE?" and he told me to stop argueing with him. for months they'd keep asking us to go to the airport with our luggage, then they sent us right back. berry terminal where it was abandoned. (barry?). anyways, then in court later they laughed and said there was so such paper, and no hard feelings, ok? but by that time we already had to leave. they can do whatever they want, it's completely unconstitutional. and that's why my waiver was approved so nicely, since i didnt do anything wrong, lol. but i've been in canada for 2.5 yrs now, waiting for my humanitarian and compassionate case. they were nice enough to let us in (after 8 hours of paperwork and waiting at the ambassador bridge) cause the us gov't still kept our passports and wouldnt give them back to us.

i wouldnt even BE going back, but since that's where i grew up and all our friends and family are there, i want to go back.

a friend of my parents who got sent back to europe same time (even though they were for many years and had kids there and everyone worked and went to school and all that)... they got approved to come back fast cause of their kids. after being back for less than a month, homeland security came and bothered them again. this time they called their lawyer. they got left alone.

I haven't called you a liar. I don't think that your case was just for a made up reason; I had been hoping you would share the 'why'.

I do think it is unfair to lead people to believe that they can be arrested for "no reason" after living many years in the US, that's why I think that there is more to your story, and I am still sure that it is very interesting.

I'm very sincere in my good wishes to you.

I'm sorry. I understand your frustration. People like judging others withough having any idea about the situation the others are in. It's human...call it psychology :) If you mention anything they are going to try finding negative rather than positive and that's how it's always going to be. Saying, however, that you could send them documents and stuff makes u look vulnerable and really, it's not worth getting worked up over it...You're in control of your life and noone else...What happened happened...I dont know what did and I dont wanna know...but i'm glad you're looking forward and not back...so dont pay attention to negative attitudes really...You're hurting urself and yourself only...Save urself for ur hubby ;)
